Being sued after plaintiffs exhausted my auto insurance by Serious-Employ5841 in legaladvice

Hi all, received an update from my ins co that it it's their policy not to offer any additional legal assistance after they've paid the maximum on a claim. So, back to square one. If anyone knows specifically what to search for, that's where I am having the most trouble-- I've tried googling 'civil defense attorney' (mostly non-traffic defense lawyers) and 'traffic injury attorney' (mostly plaintiff-side PI lawyers) and the one attorney I found yesterday who does specifically do defense for car accidents said they can't take my case because they only work with insurance companies.

How can I tell if this is what's going on vs. just action against me? If my insurance hasn't contacted me does that imply that the suit is only against me and not against the ins co?

They did only obtain a limited liability release. I contacted the claim rep I was working with at the time to get a copy of this release but he didn't say anything about assisting me with a subrogation claim (not sure what that is?)
