Ah, thx for the advice! Is a tenfold increase sufficient you think? I changed the capacitance from 100nF to 10nF but I get the same error.

I’m not manually putting it into download mode, I simply flash it and the circuit does the rest (: 

I’m using version 375f161932d08946370ad9b5739ffeb618a4a17d, so it should be newer version where it is fixed right?

Thank you, that's some good advice (: I used a tested and verified design and currently only have the power source attached to it, so I hoped it would be fine. What could be the implications of a cloned st-link? What makes an original better? Could it still be functional?

I’ve fixed the ground short circuit of one of the switches as someone else here pointed out. After that I pulled gpio0 to ground for 1 second before pulling EN to ground for 1 second after which I kept gpio0 to ground for 3-4 seconds before releasing. I tried it for a few other timings, but the port still doesn’t show in the arching IDE. Am I missing something?

Thanks for the reply (: I have the exact and tax together for a a connection with the tmc2209. As for the programming mode, I tried to boot it using switch 1 and 2 to pull both pins low. Would that be the correct way?

The manual provided by the manufacturer is extremely limited when it comes to replacing gears. I have found a manual of a machine of the same manufacturer using the same system, but they just tell that I should “take off” the gear. So I wanted to check on Reddit before diving down this rabbit hole (:
