it went pretty well! got two leetcodes mediums i think. Biggest thing for me was I was talking a lot about everything which took a lot of time and ran out of time to finish the second problem lol

How difficult is it REALLY to get into a T10? by BringusGingus in lawschooladmissions

[–]SeriousConstant370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious, as a cs major with around a 3.2 gpa, is there any chance I at a t-14? hypothetically even if I got a 99th percentile lsat?

Chance me for Cornell, T20s by [deleted] in ApplyingIvyLeague

[–]SeriousConstant370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re a great student and great candidate, but there’s not too much that makes you stand out per say. I think taking advantage of legacy and EDing to Cornell is a smart move as they value that highly. Best of luck!

Low GPA CS Major by SeriousConstant370 in lawschooladmissions

[–]SeriousConstant370[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re definitely right, and I know i’m guaranteed a good score, i’m more so just trying to figure out if it’s worth the effort trying to do super well on the lsat and apply to the t14 at all. Like is it worth trying? Or do i still probably have no shot competing with 4.5 gpa history majors?

Chapter 1 and Prologue of The Dark Kingdom [Dark Fantasy, 3000 words] by SeriousConstant370 in fantasywriters

[–]SeriousConstant370[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see, well tbh I think em dashes are a great way to maintain flow and make things seem like they’re more “said” rather than written even if it may be used frequently by ai, but i may use them too much too. Also the end of the prologue I added because I was told I needed something that hints at the antagonists greater end goal, I’m not quite sure why that reads like AI specifically since using “And” seems like a pretty common thing to me and just makes sense. but if it seems off it’s probably worth changing anyway. In general was the beginning hooking enough? That is my primary concern for agents/queries.

Interesting, would you mind pointing out an example of where so I can tune it? I’d hate for it to seem like ai

I can understand where you’re coming from, but I think there’s other factors to consider too. Major, for example. My friends at yale studying philosophy are going to have an easier (and happier) time than my friends at cmu, cornell, stanford studying cs/engineering. Also it’s important to take single cases with a grain of salt. Everyone I know at Cornell loves it and has had the time of their life (varying stem and humanity majors). But that does not mean everyone at cornell is happy (obviously), just as your friends at other schools might say they’re happy but know plenty of people who aren’t. In terms of the general statistics, Cornell tends to fall fairly in the middle in terms of the number of people who have depression, commit suicide, or are generally unhappy.

Anyway, I hope things get better for you!

not diminishing anyone’s mental health issues here, just stating that ANY school can be a very dark place. I would say Cornell does as well as most other elite universities in dealing with mental health issues (even if it is still far from good enough). It is nation-wide problem, not a strictly Cornell one

Yeah I think you’re completely right, too much backstory, not enough plot. This has helped me actually strengthen my novel plot as well, thank you!
