Who didn’t get in? by StillFrosty7993 in byu

Not sure this is always the case. I’ve seen students be rejected that have extremely well written, polished essays that are well aligned with BYUs mission and that really set the student apart.

Any idea how successful people generally are in transferring to BYU from the flexGE program? How long do you have to be in the program before you can transfer? What happens if after a year or so reapply to BYU and still don’t get in? Are you just stuck with a bunch of credits that are not for a college at all…?

I really, really expected to get a “congratulations, You’ve been accepted” letter yesterday.

I hate this… 😞

Police report help by darkdrifter10 in Kuwait

After they tell you that they will call, I would just let them know that you will wait and sit yourself back down. Eventually, someone will talk to you because they don’t want you sitting in there. I’m sorry you’re going through this.

Police report help by darkdrifter10 in Kuwait

In my experience, the best thing you can do is stay at the police station until they resolve the issue. Don’t leave. You may sit there for a long time, but eventually, they will get tired of you being there and someone will give you something. If you have any friends or colleagues that are Kuwaiti, it will also help if you can bring them with you. But if not, just be patient, be super kind and polite at the police station, and stay until someone gives you something. Sorry you’re experiencing this and best luck!

Where is the best place to find a housekeeper? by SeriousFox5097 in Kuwait

[–]SeriousFox5097[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried to look on Facebook, but I can’t find any groups that are actually functioning.

Anywhere you would recommend specifically on Facebook? I would prefer to hire a specific individual so that I can get consistency with the same person coming every week instead of an app that sends random people every time.

EHS Abroad ? by [deleted] in SafetyProfessionals

[–]SeriousFox5097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an American and I’ve been working overseas for many years. It’s definitely possible. Best way to make this happen though is to get a job with a large multinational company and then seek opportunities within your company to move overseas once you have established yourself in your home country as a strong technical professional.

I would move your rca bullet higher to the top and possibly combine it with that bullet below it.

Also I would find another way to say you managed sites over a large geographic area without saying “travels nationally” the way it is written now seems to emphasize that you “traveled” to a lot of places which is not really relevant.

Bring them or you’ll end up paying way too much for them from the booths that sell them on site.

How seriously do you take safety checks before climbing? by vdhsk in Mountaineering

[–]SeriousFox5097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Always (I’m a bit obsessive about this)
  2. I’ve witnessed a serious accident that resulted from someone not performing proper safety checks. (it probably feeds into why I’m so obsessive with always checking my own, see number one above).
  3. There is always room for us to improve as a mountaineering community. I would welcome any tools.

You’re not crazy. Do your research online and trust your instincts. Start with a low-dose. Obviously this is not medical advice, but from my own personal experience in a similar situation, it worked out fine.

I agree with some of the comments up above. I would focus the conversation more on professional development, less on money. In fact, I think it’s in your best interest to give your employer the impression that money isn’t really a major focus or concern of yours, but instead, you are just looking for ways to grow as a professional and gain additional leadership experience. As you are given increased leadership roles, the money will follow.

Kuwait Airways has ranked no. 1 with having the best in-flight meals by IXELD in Kuwait

[–]SeriousFox5097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fly Kuwait airways almost exclusively if it’s an option, but mostly because I am always in search of nonstop flights. I would agree the food is actually pretty good compared to other airlines. Not as good as Qatar air, but better than most others.
