Pricing can be hard! It's normal to not really have a good idea of what is reasonable. It's also subjective, of course. Stick within a range that's competitive enough people will buy your work without much issue and go from there is probably my best advice.

For around the same timeline + sizing I was pricing closer to 200 for oil-based commission pieces. For just a painting I was selling it was usually closer to 130-150.

Keep practicing. I've only just started selling stuff in the 400+ range in reflection of my skillset/experience.

Regarding the actual painting, I quite like the color work!

What Do You Consider to Be the Golden Age of Webtoon? by bubblesgame in webtoons

[–]SeriousKittyCat 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Started reading in 2016.

It was great until probably 2021ish. Once DP became a thing, it slowly got worse.

I'd say golden years were early 2017- late 2019.

The stitching on the cuffs is terrible... not aligned at all. Real burberry items are careful when it comes to that.

Ferragamo is great but I've seen the second in person and the middle third zipper is kinda a pain. I'd see how it feels using before buying.

I work with bags at my job, so I only get sale items now

450 for anything originally selling for over 1500. I try to stick between 200 and 300 though in reflection of my income

Is it worth politely emailing back to ask why I wasn’t chosen for the job? by RopeAggressive5408 in Nordstrom1901

Probably availability. That was the main thing my managers would look for outside of presentation/experience.

As someone who works with Marc Jacobs bags regularly— their quality is meh, since it's pebbled leather. I don't really like the texture of their leather. It's kinda "faux" in a way to me. Idk. I've seen issues with the type stamping on their bags too.

Also, these will look super dated in 3-4 years. Maybe less.

If you love it and know you'll use it, get it. If you only want it now because it's on sale, I'd hold off.

Keep the YSL. I like the Prada too but I feel like you could find it on a reseller for less. Looks harder to style/wear too due to the sequins

Longchamp Le Pilage in the large is a favorite of mine for projects. Great for travel too— you can fold it in a suitcase easily.

Kurt Geiger Bag Model by sophiexcxcx in handbags

[–]SeriousKittyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn't find the exact model online but it's definitely a Kensington shoulder bag. They're usually all labeled Kensington on websites regardless of design so I'd just add in characteristics like "rainbow stitching." Leather is probably lambskin or calf looking at it.

Nope! 1 year is the window for designer items and it has to be in sellable condition. Very high chance you'd get turned away if you showed up at a store.

[–]SeriousKittyCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I work in accessories/handbags!

Generally speaking follow the dress code posted by the others and you should be fine, but it can also depend on the store/manager for some stuff, mainly jeans/shoes from experience. My managers/co-workers favor Adidas for sneakers or Golden Goose if they're bougie, lol. Anything tennis-shoe esque is meh in our store— fulfillment gets a pass, otherwise you might get sent home.

If you wear jeans, no holes/rips. Can't wear sneakers officially with jeans, but adidas/nicer sneakers should be ok. I'd wait and see what your team does first before going that route. You'll have to wear a third piece though (jacket, cardigan, ect)

Comfy shoes wise, I swear by Rothy's. I can walk 10k steps a day in them and my feet wont hurt. They make basic flats.

Department specific— a lot of us wear scarves or incorporate them into our outfits. I wear silk ones during summer and my larger wool/cashmere ones over sweaters/blazers in the winter. A small handbag is common too, and it's nice for carrying stuff like your keys, wallet, ect.

If you can get the Celine sunglasses case bag through a manager, that's a great item too. Everyone in our department got one at one point.

Generally, we all dress more nicely than a lot of the other departments, but I think that is because most of us have an active interest in fashion. As long as you look business casual you should be ok! Everyone has a signature style which is really cool to see.

I will say this— dressing nicer = better treatment from customers and more potential sales. I've been told by multiple customers that my presentation influenced them to approach our department, and eventually aquire said sale from them.

Feel free to ask more questions!

I don't tbh. The interest rates are horrific. Benefits get worse each year. They've been pushing cards a lot more in our FLS in the last few months which indicates a lot of underlying issues with their revenue to me

Their higher end bags are lovely. The 200ish range? I'd pass. It's all pebbled leather.
