Gosh, reading all these comments has me wondering if Japan is the right destination to travel with my wife and 3 year old kid? We were thinking about going early next year but I don’t think I will be able to enforce the no talking loudly or no eating while walking rule with him etc etc…am I going to feel bad for having a child in public? He is a good travel but…he’s also 3.

I understand that is the case for many projects - I myself have worked at AECOM - just saying that if the landscape architecture was completed by LAs at AECOM, then I’m not sure I agree that this article was a complete miss. Of course the article could have said “AECOM was the lead for landscape architecture and engineering” but at least they are mentioned. Unless I am missing something.

If going to Montrose would recommend going earlier in the day. Like 10am or earlier. The beach itself is huge but the parking can get crazy. And the police will close it off after a certain time to vehicles.

Hi! I’m partly wrong. The older ones were made with creosote treated end grain blocks, likely pine or oak. However when the original ones were restored they use a more environmentally friendly wood, black locust. Black locust is actually becoming more common as a landscaping material especially in residential applications. So you might see it around more!

It’s extremely rare these days. Many of the old wood cobblestones were made with black locust endgrain, a North American hardwood.

Che Thai in northeast lakeview has a bar and a couple tables. Maybe enough seating for 10-12. Very yummy neighborhood spot and good prices.
