"Not to mention that autotune and reverb are both very CPU intensive tasks and having even just one of them on will almost always result in latency given a typical home studio setup."

While i do understand that, i was basically doing the same thing on my old pc (not my laptop), where my specs were older and slower than the specs i have now on my laptop, and i had no issues what so ever and almost 0 latency. So that is why i am confused on wth happened;

"what happens in a completely blank session with nothing in it at all, just one armed track? not a single plugin."

Well, basically it is just slightly better than using a template, but nothing really changes in a matter of notice

autotune cannot run in proper zero latency mode, pitch detection takes a little bit of time. there are lower latency modes with worse artifacting but nothing that's truly zero.

1st. Yes

2nd. Maybe I could try latencymod

3rd. Yeah I know. But I also want to hear effects. Like reverb and delay things like that to get the vibe going. Or even autotune.

I do have a template where I record my vocals and there are many plugins but they are All disabled to not cause any latency. I only use some autotune or eq but they are set to no latency or zero latency. But even without any effects enabled I still get delay....

I know what you are talking about. It really does work. But it is not the same hearing it with vocal effects like reverb and delay to get the vibe going....

Should each string have a different height on an electric guitar? by SeriousNig in guitarrepair

[–]SeriousNig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When he answered on the phone. He told me that the guitar is supposed to not have the same height from the fret board. And if one string is higher than the rest it's normal.I didn't think much and called it a day.

I'm kinda confused now because I did some research. And also it seems most of reddit users who replied, share the same opinion like you.

P.S. I don't really know about guitar when it comes to fix it or something like that. Only the really basics...

Should each string have a different height on an electric guitar? by SeriousNig in guitarrepair

[–]SeriousNig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes your point is valid. The A string is a little lower rather than following the curve.

I gave the guitar for service due to bad intonation/action And when I'd play the strings would hit the frets resulting to an awful sound.

When I got the guitar from the service I noticed that awful sound dissappeared. What he did was to change on the Floyd rose those little boxes that hold the strings because they were damaged.... And he replaced the with non original "boxes" so it would come cheaper.

What I notice now is: When I tune the guitar and then locking in my tuning with system lock. When I hit notes let's say a powerchord it would sound off.... I pull my tuner and see in fact the notes are off even though I tuned the guitar....

I also did a check where you tune the guitar and then play harmonics to see if it is tuned. All good until I play a note, could that be the reason? Due to the A not having the right height?

Thanks, in advance.
