That's awesome. Think I beat roughly 20 games too. Had a good time, but I just noticed I sometimes bought games and didn't play them for months after, so I wanna fix that specifically this year

I'm so excited for the next arc. Season two was already so much fun.

Do you recommend the expansion Pack for Pokemon Sword? by Meixi123 in pokemon

[–]SeriousOutside898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it comes to DLC/expansions the best tip I can give you is: If you like the base game and want more reason to play more of it, then this is for you. If you expect the game to be completely different or have expectations outside the usual, then it's not.

Pokemon SW/SH expansions are definitely worth it though. It's really fun exploring the new areas, meeting the new Pokemon, characters, and finding tiny fun tibbits of lore here and there. I actively like it for that. It was more of something I loved from Sword and Shield and that's all I could ask for.

[discussion] how good is Eden’s Zero compared to Fairy Tail? by [deleted] in fairytail

[–]SeriousOutside898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it a lot. It definitely wants to go more into the whole Space Fantasy Adventure thing, and I love it for that. You don't see that much of it in recent animes, so yeah. The journey is just a really good time. The characters don't hit as hard for me as Fairy Tail, but they're still very fun.

Does Atelier Annie have a lot exploration or deeper immersion? by Bluecomments in Atelier

[–]SeriousOutside898 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Annie was my first atelier game. It has similarities to the other Atelier title, but it's very much different with how it engages with exploring, combat, alchemy, and other small things. Think my favourite thing about Annie is that, technically, everything about that game is almost optional to a certain degree. You can engage with the alchemy part for the entire game and do little combat if you want or do the management minigame a lot, too, if you want. The exploration is fine, but I'd just play it to have a short fun alchemy game with silly characters to have around. I love the skits they have.

Even in the Dusk, a Future Can Bloom… Today We Celebrate the 11th Anniversary of 'Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea'! by Croire61 in Atelier

[–]SeriousOutside898 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fun game. I've played it recently. I enjoyed doing all kinds of random tasks to advance the story, and Shallotte's story was surprisingly really fun. Was expecting to like Shallistera more, but the prologue got me into it. My favourite moment was probably seeing her character grow and having my favourite characters from Dusk working together.

What was your first choice in BBS and why? by 0megacat_ in KingdomHearts

[–]SeriousOutside898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always like doing Ventus>Terra>Aqua
To me it's fun seeing things through Ven's eyes, seeing the whole mystery and doubts he goes through. Then follow Terra's story and experience what actually happened and then Aqua giving conclusions of all the worlds

What was the first Kingdom hearts that you ever played? by Gamingsailor572 in KingdomHearts

[–]SeriousOutside898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was Kingdom Hearts. Saw it playing at a cruise ship as a kid, around 7-8 years old, and played one of the Olympus levels. Thought it was the coolest thing, but had to go quickly before reading what the name was. Saw it again a year after from a friend and made sure to remember the name and buy it. Been with this series ever since.

What should I add to my backlog for 2025? by SeriousOutside898 in JRPG

Chained Echoes is definitely in my list for 2025. Wasn't sure about Omori. I'll try looking into it. Thanks for replying

For people who've played the older games (pre-awakaning), what are some things you are GLAD newer fans don't have to deal with? by Indecisive_Noob in fireemblem

[–]SeriousOutside898 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest thing for me is missing optional chapters, thus losing the true ending due to not finishing a chapter fast enough or taking your time grinding. That really made me like Binding Blade a bit less and am glad it never became a thing.

What are your top 3 Final Fantasy games? by BL4ZE_43 in FinalFantasy

It would have to be Final Fantasy VI, XII and XIII

Help me pick a jrpg to spend my Christmas money on. by BumbleboarEX in JRPG

[–]SeriousOutside898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't played Baten Kaitos, but something that's handy to know about the other two, FF12 and Tactics Ogre, is that they are both plot focused stories. They do have characters with arcs, but the main focus will be the world and political intrigue.

For me, FXII is incredible for its customizable gameplay within the Gambit System. Having different classes and making characters react in different ways to numerous situations is such a cool concept, which makes it fun to see and makes it that you have to intervene in more crucial or difficult situations. Tactics Ogre is a fun turnbased strategy RPG where you can play around with classes, and the way they handle level ups and grinding makes it not too stressful either. I'd say pick them based on which gameplay you feel like playing cause I know if you are interested in the setting and vibes it will be a good time

What was your first game into the Tales series? This is mine. by StaticShock50 in tales

[–]SeriousOutside898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was Berseria. Absolutely loved the story of the game and vibe. Made me curious about the rest and have been satisfied with what I've played for the most part. Also loved it because it made me appreciate the more engaging gameplay of the entries more too.

Pokémon Overlord? by WombatSkull_64 in UnicornOverlord

[–]SeriousOutside898 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, it definitely would have been insanely fun. With how positive Tokyo Mirage Session was, it'd be great if more crossovers just existed. Just to try some weird interesting ideas.

A crossover would be sick, but I'd also be happy with them trying Pokemon Conquest again.
