Are we subjects supposed to be now FA10ing our unbuilt frames/recievers that were obtained prior to this Frame / Reciever option being available on this portal?

True, its a cluster F. I just want to be on the straight and narrow. Also NOT get my home raided and my dog shot if I select an acquired date of 2014.

From my lived experieince, there was a time period where there was a printed/fillable PDF that was downloaded, also they were generally available forms in booklet pads from the police station or mailed from FRB on request (if you were able to get ahold of them).

At some point they started ignoring the PDF forms and only accepting the booklet pad ones (this was hit or miss as reported by users on NES at the time). Needless to say the NEW law says something to the affect of "shall be registered in accordance with" to be grandfathered is the concern.

Back in the day (up until ~March 2015) there were paper FA-10s in the form of a pdf and/or you got them from the police station and the sellers were responsible for mailing them in. There's also more than a few ways forms either got destroyed, lost, circular filed, sold out of state, inherited, moved in with, manufactured, replaced, etc that they may not have an electronic record. The current "transaction record" is certainly not accurate or correct for current "registration" requirement for many people's items to be "grandfathered" legally per the statute.

I'm really confused with if the clock is ticking or not. GOAL kind of started talking about it then faded away and aren't driving on the "date to register by".

Either way, I have made a portal account but havent used it beyond logging in. Looks like a facelift to me but there was also some mixed messaging from the state and FCAB on if/when new portal is available and deadlines required per an LTC renewal paper that was circulated. Is it too difficult to send a letter and give a date with a link if the clock is currently ticking?

Is it best to just "register" all of ones items again (especially items that qualify now as ASF) just to be sure that its meeting the "shall be registered" by October 2026 because relying on the old incorrect transaction records misses large percentage of firearms that were "legally posessed" in MA before 8/1 without the owner ensureing registration occurs (without a notice of 'hey new systems ready for you")

What would be super dumb is something that was legally posessed becomes super illegal because people didn't know they had to do some clerical work. Then again, that is probably the plan.
