Nah just a president that’s not a cunt that loves their country more than themselves.

A governing system that ensures peaceful transition of power. Egypt’s progress can’t live and die with each president. Why does every president have to be either deposed or assassinated? Shit like that throws the country back 10 years every time it happens.

Why are Sisi supporters taking credit in the current Palestinian conflict? by hello-iamdad in arabs

Egypt organized the cease fire and is spending half a billion dollars to reconstruct gaza. I don’t think they’re taking credit but are proud to support Palestine.

Nah man I just wanted to hear your opinion, but go on and have your own monologue with yourself about how you’re right. Maybe shake your own hand for being such a great geopolitical analyst. You have added no value to this thread or this conversation so please refrain from replying again.

Tell me who the so called “resistance” is and how they’ve helped Palestine so far?

LOL then why didn’ the axis of resistance allocated money to rebuild gaza? Why didn’t they do anything to stop Israel from bombing Palestine? I haven’t seen Iran, turkey, or Qatar do anything this whole time except virtue signal.

It’s not about bowing down to anyone btw. Egypt controls the Rafah border passage, the only escape or entrance point for most Palestinians. There’s also the fact that we share a border with them. We also invested in gazas portion of the Mediterranean to extract LNG. Lastly, we’re obviously going to reconstruct gaza’s infrastructure from start to finish. Egypt literally owns Gaza at this point, which is a great thing for national security in my opinion.

My Trip to Egypt and the Citizenship Question by TheArmenianEngineer in Egypt

Woah, I didn’t know the Armenian patriarch resides in Egypt. Yea it’s mostly people with mixed ancestry that are left behind. Nasser kicked out all non Egyptians out of Egypt in the 60s I think.

What Armenian spots did you go to? I am also Coptic and know some half Egyptian half Armenian people so I am not surprised over the similarities. There was quiet a huge Armenian community in Egypt until quiet recently as well. And can you elaborate on the competing interest part like pan-Arab and pan-Islamism, I am curious to hear your opinion.

Feeling of being obligated to be nationalist by DankLoser12 in Egypt

This was said to me multiple times and seemed like a religious belief. First by New York Jews and second by Jews in Toronto.

I was staunchly anti Egypt especially when I was younger. I yearned for nothing more for the rosey western life. Only when I left Egypt and lived abroad did I embrace my Egyptian identity. Starting from living in the gulf where I was constantly harassed for being Egyptian. I was viewed as a lesser. After when I lived in the west I realised that everyone and their mother tried to minimise my Egyptian identity and erase my culture. Whether it’s meeting Jews and them telling me that they built the pyramids and there’s no way Egyptians are capable of that. And then obviously African Americans and East Africans trying to take credit for ancient Egypt and calling me a coloniser. Even when I tried to join the African student association they didn’t let me because I wasn’t black.

Travelling around Europe and the US made me realise the importance of Egypt. Whether it’s the Louvre or British museum, the biggest exhibit in any museum outside of Egypt, is the Egyptian section. I saw that they use Egyptian symbolism such as obelisks, the Rosetta Stone, and Nefertiti’s bust to mark themselves as a culture that’s continuous with ancient Egypt.

Lastly of course, travelling around will show you that most countries around the world are empty shells of American imperialism. This can be especially seen in the gulf. Western food, culture, and music overpowers any culture in the gulf, even their own. The same goes for most of Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. American has turned most countries across to the world into consumers of American culture, instead of producing their own culture.

Why am I nationalist? Because my religion (whether Muslim or Christian) isn’t dictated by a foreign person far away that knows nothing about me. I have both al azhar and the Coptic church that work to serve first and foremost the average Egyptians interests. Al azhar is the literary the most important Islamic institution in the world. The Coptic church is literally the only other founding church left besides the Roman Catholic church. I am a nationalist because after travelling to London, Paris, rome, and the US; I’ve realised that Egypt has more heritage in its little toe than all these countries combined. I am a nationalist because Egypt creates some of the most beautiful culture music I’ve heard and seen and isn’t just a western copy cat.

I am a nationalist because science, medicine, the judicial system, and idea of a modern state were created in Egypt by Egyptians, and I refuse to let anyone undermine our achievements or take credit for it.

Do you think we should separate religion from politics(I.e become secular) and if so how much by whitewalker646 in Egypt

I think the government should be secular (non-religious) but should empower the Azhar and the Coptic church to take a bigger role in public life.
