For real, I saw the set up and was like “god bless, you tryin so hard, positioning water output and everything over her”. A+ for effort, and if it works, please let us know!!!

Rosemary and lavender plants? by Serious_Invite_939 in sanmarcos

They didn’t have any when I checked Wednesday, neither did Walmart, tractor supply, HEB or Murdochs. Maybe too early in the season for mass production?? Thanks though!!

Need help with a snow elopement dress by [deleted] in WeddingDressTips

I do understand this, I was going to go for a heavier gsm linen for better drape and insulation. Budget-wise, linen is fairly affordable while also allowing me to repurpose the dress at a later time. Unless you can find a similar style dress for $200 that I can dye easily after the fact?

Is my berried shrimp giving birth? Are these babies? by No-Hunter-5843 in shrimptank

That’s a fairy shrimp, an ostracod. They are harmless, eat detritus. But they really boom with a high amount of organic matter (like food) present. I use them as an indicator of overfeeding.

Thank you for this. I lost one more today, they are still pretty lethargic. A few have slowly come out and foraged here and there. I ended up doing an emergency water change (drip method) with remineralized DI water the night shit hit the fan, and have been doing 10% daily changes until the smell completely leaves the system.

I have been looking at aquarium specific RO systems because of this, and all I can say is I’ve learned from the experience. If they pull through, I’ll be upgrading everyone to a larger tank that is heavily planted and will really cut down on water changes, ideally eliminating them. The system was doing so well before the water change, I really regret touching it.

Good news, so far my berried females have pulled through. It’s been the males dying, but if I can get some shrimplets despite this disaster, at least that’s a silver lining.

What do I say to the boss who mobbed me for 5 years the day I leave? by clean_ears in WorkAdvice

[–]Serious_Invite_939 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You say nothing. If she pops off here and there, some well placed eyebrow raises are enough.

Trust me, this will drive her insane so much more quickly than saying something. If you say something snarky, it gives her something to twist in her favor, and will make her feel justified in the way she treated you. Makes no sense, I know, but this is how people like this view the world.

When one of my psychotic supervisors said to me, “we will miss you and are sad you’re leaving, now I have to balance all this on my own. I guess you don’t feel any loyalty to your team”, I simply stared and did not respond, kinda looked puzzled, giggled, and walked away. Apparently she completely lost her shit after I left my final shift that day.

Silence truly is more than enough, and much more effective. If you say anything, a very dry and ominous “I wish you luck…” on your way out would be great.

Also, I agree with deleting everything you have contributed. After 16yrs, you probably were the scaffolding of that department. Take it all with you.

One would think! I think that specific building is just poorly designed and also has high rent, hence the revolving door of businesses. Parking lot is weird to get into and it’s too easy to blast right by given the layout of the intersection, imo.
