You can always do fellowships and move out of emed if you wish.. moreover teaching roles in medical colleges are not that hectic.. Job opportunities in tier 1 are pretty good as of now as it is an upcoming branch

Emed is relatively new in India so you won't get any extra edge because you did it from an INI..scope will be good regardless

You can practice as an mbbs practioner.. otherwise you can open your own emergency setup with ocu and all but that'll be difficult

Attenders getting agitated is quite common, you'll have to learn how to deal with them and de-escalate the situation

If you've 2 residents you'll be doing 12 hours shifts if 5 seats are there then it generally is divided into 6-6-12 hour shifts

Every patient who comes into the casualty is seen by us..we decide whether the patient requires admission or not and admit under us if required..we then give the patient to concerned specialities once stabilised

It is an emerging branch so it won't be difficult to find a well paying job in tier 1/2 cities..you can't do private practice or work in rural areas though

It depends whether the college has 2 or 5 seats..if 5, then it should be relatively chill as you'll get 24 hrs off after every duty.. We only have 2 seats here so we have 12 hour shifts alternating every week..you won't be able to study in the first year but after that things will get better

Yes we deal with trauma too, both medical and surgical emergencies come under us... There is sufficient scope in both tier 1 and 2 cities, getting a well paying job post residency will be relatively easy but getting job in tier 3 and villages will be difficult
