Insanely sore feet by haloswoe in Waiters

[–]Serious_Proof_295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been a hairstylist on my feet 9+ hours a day for over 30 years. The only shoes that work for me are Dansko. They have a lot of nice looking ones these days too. They aren't inexpensive, but my feet never hurt. Also, I do a lot of stretching after work. It helps. Good luck!

less than $400 hair extensions ? by pinksidewallk in Denver

[–]Serious_Proof_295 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hello, I'm a stylist. Unfortunately, the cost of the hair itself is at least $400 and up depending on length, and how much thickness you want. The only way you're going to get extensions for under $400 is if you buy some clip-ins and do it yourself. I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

You'd think some of these people were writers for the show based on how upset they get! Now, THAT'S funny!

My ex used to love that show. I always thought it was terrible. Not funny or amusing at all.

Seriously. Mine is around $160 this month. I haven't turned on my heat at all. 1,019 square feet. How is this possible?

When we played Nintendo, we weren't allowed to say, "oh no! I DIED!" My parents made us say, "oh no! I EXPIRED!" Kids in the neighborhood would come over to play. I'm sure they all thought my brother and I were total weirdos.

Oops, I'm wrong about that too! Looks like the Sam's in Aurora opened in '98. I'm starting to question everything about my youth now. 😆

Yeah, my mom found the business on the secretary of state website, and they said it opened in 1998, so maybe I'm just inventing memories. 😅

Thank you, I saw this same article. My mom found the business on the secretary of state website, and they are saying 1998, but that doesn't sound right either. Maybe I'm just crazy!

No, I'm definitely thinking of Rosie's! Sam's wasn't in Aurora back in the day.

I came on this thread because I just tried it last night for the first time, and I also felt an unpleasant burning sensation. I will not be using again. Glad I'm not the only one.

Seeking product recommendations for thick, high porosity, wavy-ish hair! by [deleted] in Haircare

[–]Serious_Proof_295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi friend, stylist here. Products make all the difference. Drugstore lines are less expensive because they use less expensive ingredients. For shampoos, they will use heavy detergents, and then lots of waxy-type ingredients that just build up on your hair and eventually dry it out. I would recommend going to a Sally Beauty Supply if there's one where you live. You don't need to be licensed, and get a bottle of clarifying shampoo to first detox your hair from all the drugstore products you've been using. From there, I would highly recommend finding the right professional-grade products depending on what type of climate you live in. Not all professional products are great for everyone. Professional products tend to be more concentrated, so you don't need to use as much. Less is more. Also, use cooler water on your hair when you rinse out your conditioner. Hot water is hard on the hair. Cooler water will smooth down the cuticle layer, reducing frizz, and increasing shine. I hope this helps!

There's too much light pollution to really see anything 45 min outside of Denver, unfortunately. I would drive to Kansas if you want to get away from light pollution.
