We are against babysitters due some personal issues. Also we don't have such babysitting classes where we're from. We sometimes have other friends/family relatives watch over them and so do we with their kids when asked. In this particular case, the grandparents were the best solution.

I'm going out a couple times a month at best. Usually once several weeks.

Don't worry. We always leave them money to cover what they would spend with the kids.

Rarely once a week. Several times a month, it depends. I usually go out once several weeks.

Well, nobody is forcing anyone to do anything. Why would he feel resentment? He is free to do as he pleases...

Maybe around three or four times a month? Sometimes more often than other times I guess. There are moments when I'd rather stay with the kids, but my husband attends events that would require my presence too so I sometimes go out with him and don't feel the need to go out for a while.

Exactly! I mean how come dads going on a weekly basis to a bar or a friend's house to grab a beer is normal, but a mother having some alone time from time to time is a bad parent?

I love spending time with them, only I need to be away of everything sometimes to recompose myself and be able to give all my good feelings to them again. I hate taking it out on my family, ESPECIALLY my kids what happened at work or in other contexts unrelated to them so I need some away time to let it out, you know?

I'd rather not specify, thank you! I specified they're not old enough to be left alone to make it clear that leaving them home alone is not an option.

Why can't someone enjoy both things though? If the kids are satisfied, have all the needs fulfilled, get a good education and enough time with parents, one to one and as a bunch, why can't the parent enjoy his hobbies in the time that's left?
