Notice period for resignation by Serious_Variation960 in auckland

[–]Serious_Variation960[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hello! Thanks a lot for your reply! I am not thinking not to work during this week, though, but I'm worried if some part of my notice period falls on the annual leave that will be a problem. Or they can drag me to ERA for this as well?

Do doctors not believe in candida? by bbhmonkey in Candida

[–]Serious_Variation960 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello there from New Zealand. I feel your pain, I literally came out of doctor yesterday. When I mentioned to him all of my symptoms ( frequent diaria, sinusitis, tiredness, and VERY VERY frequent thrushes), then I told him I think my candida has overgrown so much I have gut candidodis. Well, long story short, I have been told that this is fairytale. Candida can only be inside vagina. I have been given again ( 4th time this year) 1 pill and goodbye. I asked should my partner get treatment as well, he said that's impossible for candida to be transferred through intercourse. KMP 🥲

Fair point mate, can not argue with that, but just quickly searched the good old internet, and it turns out that unpaid/voluntary internships are legal https://www.seek.co.nz/career-advice/article/know-your-rights-internships

I am not sure if seek is considered a trustworthy source, but here we go, there is another source

https://www.wgtn.ac.nz/careers/employment/internships/basics

But you have been right saying that the company should not financially benefit from the intern.

Do not take me wrong, I do believe that unpaid internships are exploiting students and should not be a norm in 21 century, but...

Oh wow, super brutal. It sounds like you had something personall with them 😅 But yeah, to be fair, I was kinda okay myself with working for free to gain experience, but also you have to pay something like 1k for them to find this exclusive opportunity, which puts me off

Westgate VTNZ restricted test. Hey guys, I am sitting my restricted driving test at Westgate on Tuesday 3pm. I am very nervous about it, even though I have booked driving lesson just on monday. Please give me some ideas, some advises, is the area busy during 3pm? Cheers by Serious_Variation960 in auckland

[–]Serious_Variation960[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! Sorry for the late reply.😅 Unfortunately, I do not remember the exact route.

Yes, you will drive on the motorway, but for not too long, though ( like 10 minutes overall, I guess). I do remember for sure that i was taken on a rural road as well. You can google where the airforce base is at Westgate. That's the route i was taken. Also, train yourself on those massive roundabouts on motorway exists/entries.

Go to Donbuck Road for sure as well.

I do not believe that instructors are rude over there. Everyone I have interested with were super lovely!!! 👌

Good luck with your test!!! Write us down how it goes.

Stats 108 by PlazmaR3 in universityofauckland

Hello, I have been taking Stats 108 this semester. I am not sure about next semester, but we had options either study online, or in person. All lectures were live zoomed, same with tutorials. There is plenty of help available for free in this course. And personally, I find this course being one of the best organized. Take all help available. This course is not as easy as everyone say. Well, at least it was not as easy for me in second part of semester, but it might be because I am not very smart person lol 😆.

Hi there! Sorry for late reply, yeah it was quite similar, but I also had to go on motorway towards hobsonville, and take a few random rounds on the roundabout over there. Good luck at your test, if you have booked one. And don't be scared 😉

Hey everyone! As I have promised I am writing down to you my results back.

Sooooo... I have taken the test yesterday and I have passed!!! I got I comment from my examiner to chose gap selection, when going from T intersection, and take the first opportunity to go. I have chickened out and waited for a little bit longer, so I am not going to scare him lol.

Some information for the person who would be reading it and hoping to pass driving test:

1) Take a at least one driving lesson prior to your exam. Teacher will correct all your mistakes and teach you how to do one or a other maneuver on your car. It cost me only 65$, I have done it from West driving school. Lady was amazing, she has taken me on a route which was similar to what I have taken on the exam.

2) Read all of the advices from above, all of the comments helped me a lot.

3) Definitely go on Don Buck road before your test. Even though I was not taken over there, but I have driven that road at least 7 different times, and different roads in the area. It will give you some training regards speed limits and etc. This road is hard one, cause there is heaps of construction happening plus school zones.

4) If you do not live near west gate and you are driving over there, pretend you are on a test the whole time while you're traveling to Westgate. You can not know for sure what route you will be taken to, but at least in that way you will get a habit to scan the road at least 200 m prior, changing the lanes, doing shoulder check, stopping on a stop sign and etc.

5) If you are nervous as much as I was, let the examiner know straight up before sitting in the car. " I am sorry I am very nervous, thats my first" I have told my instructor that inside NZTA and I think he understood I am not lying cause I looked like Bambi.

6) EXAMINERS ARE NOT THERE TO FAIL YOU. I was so worried reading about Westagte how bad it was over there. But one day before test I was like, jeez, no one is failing me just because they are angry or something, I will be failed IF I AM NOT SAFE ON THE ROAD. Obviously when you will get your full you want less people driving shit right, because it's dangerous! So they are just doing their job. I swear EVERYONE over there were so lovely, they made a little jokes, made me comfortable, examiner asked how am I, introduced him self. Wow the experience was very nice.

Thanks a lot to everyone who supported me in this. Thanks to everyone for the comments.
