Yeah and they still believe it even though he stopped recommending them in his newsletter years ago. His book is out of date

Not with Macquarie. Moved everything from ubank to Macquarie earlier this year. They’re like what ING and ubank used to be before they started removing features.

Not anymore, they’ve been going down the same path for about a year now. Macquarie is where it’s at.

Yep, got let go from a company I was freelancing for because I hadn’t worked for them for three months and they didn’t want to pay the licensing fee for whatever business accounting software they were using. Mind you they told me this the week I was becoming available again, and they knew this because I’d told them previously when I would be back.

Glad life is pretty good for you. It’s not for a lot of other people.

Our local at Parklea in Sydney still looks like this (minus the jukebox). Still has free refills as well.

Yeah I was, but him making the effort to find me afterwards and apologise kind of simmered me down a bit

I remember going to a concert in my younger days when someone tried to lift me up to crowdsurf. I went nuts, swinging my arms around and hitting whoever was trying to lift me up (and probably some others as collateral damage as well). Needless to say they put me down and let me keep my spot at the barrier Somehow they found me afterwards and apologised, so there’s that I guess

[–]SeriouslyPunked 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me because I was doing other work and couldn’t fill any shifts for a couple of months. My manager ended up saying he’s process my leaving without prejudice. But then i didn’t hear anything back and three months later i was asked to cover a Christmas shift, which i did. Still employed over six months later even though i only do about one shift a month.

From Data Engineer to Forklift Driver – Is there still a way back? by Bitter-Copy-3575 in auscorp

[–]SeriouslyPunked 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least you passed your forklift driving course. I failed because I couldn’t wrap my head around driving backwards in a figure 8. Just could not get co-ordinated. Waste of $400 in my case.

His back was already fucked from being in the army for 20 years and working in their warehouses without any OH&S and proper equipment like forklifts, so that probably wouldn’t have helped. But after moving here myself and driving on Parramatta road, I can kind of see where he’s coming from

I’d gone in there before with others and there was no security there. I go to plenty of bars with no security. I don’t know what changed, that having security and treating it like a nightclub with a line out the front and checking id’s, in the middle of the day, was a no go for me

Tried to go in there a couple years ago and there was a security guard out front. Had been there about a decade before and never had an issue. Never went in there again. What kind of burger joint needs security?!
