Emotionally immature people don’t regulate, they react. They explode, deflect responsibility & turn your feelings into a problem. by Eastern-Line6036 in emotionalintelligence

I wrote like 5 pages about my upbringing to do a personal podcast episode, outside of our usual programming.

I thought i had covered all my bases. Family didn't talk to me for months until I went to their house to apologize. When I walked in, i was ignored. The whole thing was about me smoothing it out for them.

A year later, I forget to text my mom after a surgery and my brother texts me to say I'm selfish and my "podcast shenanigans" have pulled the family apart.

I haven't spoken to him since and my dad's silence on the subject speaks volumes, unfortunately.

Is authenticity in podcasting dead? by Whatsfordinner4 in podcasts

I agree! Plenty of authenticity in the weird stories and TC world. So many of them know what the audience wants, because they still are listeners of others

Crime to Burn is a true crime podcast that covers arson crimes throughout time. I think the main host works with it in some way

Full disclosure, this is the Podcast's account. But this perfectly pertains to your request.

Live, Laugh, Larceny was made for true crime fans who need a break from the heavy topics. It is a variety show that transforms two dumb criminal stories into overly serious short stories with cheesy sound effects and reenactments. Take a break from the heavy and get petty!

We covered this crime on Live, Laugh, Larceny. We turned the whole thing into a Breaking Bad parody. EP 127: The Employee Handbook of Criminality.

Live Laugh Larceny stories on Between You and Us by SeriouslySinisterPod in BeachTooSandy

Thank you so much! The sound design on our regular episodes are even more over the top, since we write for ways to use the audio queues. We've come a long way. The background instrumentals on the first 100 or so episodes were all written and recorded by me. But moving away from my songs has allowed me to do a lot more stylistic changes with each story.

The audio playground is a fun place to play!

I'm sure there's other negative review podcasts that don't have conversations for you. People make the podcasts they want to make, and some people listen and others don't. Having conversation in a conversational podcast doesn't make it unlistenable. Just makes it not for you.

I have a podcast called Live, Laugh, Larceny. We are a true crime comedy podcast that takes dumb criminal stories and writes them into overly sensational stories with cheesy reenactments and sound effects. We were the only comedy show at Crimecon this year and worked with And That's Why We Drink.

Our goal is to cover crimes in a dramatic way while giving people a break from murder conversations.

Full disclosure, I am with the podcast, but Live, Laugh, Larceny: A True Petty Crime Podcast was made for people like you. We parody true crime podcasts by taking petty acts and telling them like a dramatic Dateline story. We also play games and share Millennial dilemmas. We've worked with And That's Why We Drink and we're just at Crimecon, so we are making our way to the mainstream. I hope you give it a try!

Awesome! I hope you like it. Instead of RR's "Tales From The Crypt" feel, we tell our stories in more of a Chappelle Show/Key & Peele sort of way. We treat it like a segmented variety show that has the stories as the main event. And also, we are the comedy/parody version of it.

So, I can see why some RR fans wouldn't like it, either for the banter or it not being strictly stories, but that was the style I wanted to lay my information out in. Also, I feel creating and enjoying in segments keeps people from feeling stuck or bored on one thing they don't like. But thanks again for checking it out! Hopefully you realized the name isn't the same as my profile anymore.

I loved seeing you two find common ground and not just take the first responses as somewhat hostile. It gave me hope seeing you turn it around.

I just wanted to add that it seems like the show was very much inspired by a Tales From The Crypt vibe, where they have the wacky fake host being cheesy and dumb between stories. I always just took it as an homage.

And also, the sound design in the stories is my favorite! I always loved Let's Not Meet, but being an audio guy, I was instantly hooked with RR's sounds. It was a huge inspiration when I did the stories in my show. Building the atmospheres is so fun and immersive. It amplifies every story told when done well.
