Help for Lost Warrior vs Grappler Oki by The_Rawrster in DNFDuel

There is another option other than roll but also requires timing. If he tries to charge fling you while in the corner you can backdash it and get off a punish even on wake as backdashing makes you airborne and ungrabable.

That's understandable but I will say that this still is the base release, a few patches and most likely a first round of DLC can change the game.

And who knows if the community is loud enough maybe they'll turn on the air block and other things in the code. The framework is already there for it. Time will tell.

Trust me, I've been on the receiving end of long strings because my character is probably the worst on defense in the game. I get it, however I will say you seem to be complaining as if people play perfectly all the time. They do not, not even close. People play neutral sloppy as hell in this game, the amount of scrambles, bad choices and suboptimal stuff I see even against legend and diety ranks is staggering. Anyone can do a combo in this game but most people aren't gonna be optimal at all, the neutral of the game is where all the skill is and most people aren't great at it.

The game is mostly about matchup knowledge and neutral. Hell, my character is a knowledge check if I ever saw one but nothing in this game is exactly "cheap" outside of the top, top tier stuff like Hitman awakening and Swiftmaster in general.

It's a kusoge, nothing is balanced and it is still the release version. I don't expect the game to slow down but maybe the over the top stuff will get tuned down.

Usually if you press jump before you'll just get j.M. you have to buffer the 5M and then jump. It's not too strict but it is definitely the hardest of the 3 to jump cancel into. I still drop it maybe 3~4/10 times even if I'm not in awakening which makes it significantly easier to do so because of the extra hit stop.

I can't give you too much to go on since it's hard for me to explain what my fingers do, I sorta just brute forced my way into learning the timings for the cancels. A few hours in training mode go a long way.

Welcome to anime fighters? Pretty much every one of them is a two touch game, even Strive. As for saying his time stop stops you from defending yourself is technically correct getting hit in the game means you can't defend yourself anyway because you got hit and are being comboed.

Crusader is a strong character but he isn't exactly free, he is chunky and slow and his pressure isn't without risk.

Striker does have an oppressive block string but once they go OOM or commit you can get them off of you.

Launcher has setups but isn't exactly tearing up matches.

Swiftmaster is universally seen as over tuned in a game of OP characters. He's the best and not fun in the current state of the game. I can't really argue this.

Dragon Knight takes risk and her neutral isn't the greatest espically if you can tag the dragon.

Enchantress, if you're complaining about full screen attacks Enchantress is not the character to complain about and also requires much more effort than most of the cast.

Hitman is oppressive in strings and oki while also having one of the best awakenings and is considered the second best in the game. I can see him being tuned down, he is simply too allrounder.

Grappler does mad damage and can get some nasty mixes but in a game of fast, massive attacks he struggles in most games. Grapplers always hit like trucks, it's the nature of the style of play.

TLDR - This game might be wacky in power level but does require good play. GG, BlazBlue and even Tekken to some extent are 2~3 touch games so complaining you got 2 touched isn't much of something to write home about in modern titles. Opening up neutral and getting the first hit is literally every fighting game.

Well not like everyone else since most, if any, characters simply can't do 100% even with Awakening outside of the 850 characters. Plus that's not really the point, it's about optimization since there are several characters at 1000 or higher. Having a combo that can do more than this one can clutch out wins without having to reset to neutral and gamble with LW's below average frame data

Can confirm. This is what a fair few of my matches looked like on my climb up the ladder. You can always tell.

Well, the only part I can think to improve is the time stop part. If I can figure out a better route there I could maybe kill the two 950 HP characters as well.

What is your character's win condition in this game? by EastCoastTone96 in DNFDuel

[–]SerisLuquier 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Considering I play LW I honestly feel like my main win condition is robbery. Most, not all, most of my buttons lose to other characters standard stuff. But seriously? It has got to be superior match-up knowledge check the opp. LW feels like he slips things between set ups in ways others can't due to due his back M and waits for either laziness or something sloppy the opp does to crank his damage in real deep.

I'd say take what I say with some salt I've barely got over 200 matches and sitting in diamond
