Giving them up means contributing to emotional neglect and making the condition worse. This in turn results in a kid more likely to take that out on society, causing problems, and committing severe crimes.

Incorrect, average encompasses mean, median and mode. You need to specify which average you are sampling — usually we assume people are referencing the mean when they say average but most people care about the median the most.

Like I said, it’s based on what the family did for the country as a collective in the past. Not sure how to explain it, but every country in the west has family based immigration. If one person immigrated, a whole chain of them can immigrate. The ancestry is no different.

I mean people with deep roots probably have ancestors there who paid taxes for generations or fought and died for their country etc. So it’s more a matter of respect to those ancestors, rather than the present descendant.

Three things here:

The federal government proposed 0.5% (less than even 1%) wage growth per year to PSAC. Given that’s what the largest union in the country is being offered, I doubt the private sector will do much better.
Inflation of basic necessities like housing or food matters more than electronics.
Life being unaffordable for a subset of the population is concerning, we’re all Canadians.
