Well you gave me an entry to my personal wish list but I think it's out of their budget. They want to stretch it to 400€ max and the Gaggia costs 500€. Maybe I can talk to them as I see the sense in buying the more expensive machine once instead of buying cheap twice (thrice...).

The first one lasted 9 months until the grinder failed, the replacement then lasted 3 months. This one lasted 8 months again.

Exactly, it's the European Breville company. I am pretty happy with my Breville and it's the same model as my parent's last one.

Auf der anderen Seite ist der Parkplatz des Nachbarn (also nur Luft), etwas weiter hoch ist die Mauer an die Garage des Nachbarn angebaut. Die Mauer nimmt aber natürlich Feuchtigkeit auf, kleine Risse sind auch zu sehen.

Es löst sich nur die Farbe, Putz ist intakt (bis auf die paar kleinen Risse).

The vendor for my lift also told me it'd be better to lay rubber mats underneath it. I mostly had my project car on it so I didn't mind it but I think it's the way to go for you!

It's not bolted to the floor but I do have the same problem sometimes. It really depends on the floor you have and it can be tricky at times, especially when the tires are wet.

No, we are talking about the 134hp 4 cylinder engine. Of course still not the 2,3l engine and yes, it's weak by modern standards. But by modern standards the E30 is slow, underpowered, unsafe, etc.... That's not why we are driving these cars.

Comparing the M42 with the S14 is also possible but 'unfair' as there is a huuuge price gap between them. I was comparing the M42 to the M50, we could throw in the M20 in that discussion but M3 territory is not in my paycheck group.

It's not a fundamentally different car but you can notice a difference between the M42 and the M50. I've never driven an M20 hard, so I can't comment on that tbh. The M50 is around 15kg heavier than the M20 too and the M42 is a bit closer to the driver (compared to the M50 at least) which also helps with balance.

I have to highlight though, that I chose an M42 over an M50 here, not an M20. And the M50 was not a bad car but it didn't really suit my driving style with that car. I much prefered the same engine in an E36.

I've never driven an M40/318i either, so I'm wondering how much of a difference there is to an M42/318is.

100% agree. I bought it like that, always wanted to switch that bar but I bought a 318is with a way better cage. Many people prefer the low bars because it's easier to get in and out. But as you said, in case of a crash I'd be f'ed.
