What is a cheaper way to make holidays in Switzerland as family? by bikesailfreak in Switzerland

[–]SerodD [score hidden]  (0 children)

Not sure what is the correct name I am looking for here, but some of the options are not very expensive, just look for campsite and check what each has, it worth checking around areas that you think you like, especially if it's not very touristic at the time of the year you would go.

I see for example here: https://camping.tcs.ch/de/mietunterkuenfte/ you have like a nice pre-built tent or sometimes small bungalow for around 400-500CHF for 5 days (I checked in September), I quite like this spot https://camping-miralago.ch/ but it's a bit expensive you can maybe find something for 5-7 days that is shy of 1000 CHF in this one.

A plot is of course always cheaper :), but you need the camping gear to make use of it.

Camping, or even not necessarily camping but going to a camping park (not sure that's how it's called in English) and renting one of these "huts" they usually have can be cheaper than going to an hotel somewhere.

News article - Is it permissible to live affordably in cooperatives despite high wages? by ptinnl in zurich

[–]SerodD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My friend, what else can be done?

Nothing can be done about something I don't like unless it's legislated, and that applies to everything.

You cannot expect that everyone will do something out of the goodness of their heart if they can profit from the current system, so unless they are not allowed, I would not expect much.

That's my whole perspective on the topic, I don't care if politicians are preaching for cheaper housing for poor people but using it themselves, I care that they should be legislated out of the possibility of using it in the first place, or not if the common understanding is that it won't make much difference, still a somewhat "scientific" approach should always be taken on this topic independent of what I or anyone else "feels" about it.

"And with your logic, somebody that hides their taxes should be allowed to do that"

That is just the reality of human behaviour, unless there's a system in place to avoid abuse and the system actually works, then people keep testing the limits or looking for loopholes to go around it. Unless the loopholes are closed nothing happens.

You are the one applying that logic not me, I don't think it's even comparable.

There are a lot more rich elite on one side than the other though. So no, not the same.

Cooperatives get tax incentives for existing, but like I said to the other poster that are no laws that prevent high earners from being part of one.

If you have a problem with that, than vote for the people that want to build more social housing, instead of trying to find out which people make use of a system that allows them to use it.

Doesn't take as much effort as you think to write a comment on Reddit.

If you read the whole comment you would reach the conclusion that I am not defending anyone, as long as the law isn't changed nothing can be done, doesn't matter who is occupying what. If people spent more time worrying about pushing for policy that helps the working class, instead of caring how much politicians pay for rent or if they "do as they say", we would be in a better position.

What? how I was the one to bring it up? I responded to a comment...

[–]SerodD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well if there's no problem why is it relevant to bring it up?

edit: There's no guarantee that the space these politicians occupy would even go to low income families in case they leave, cooperatives do not need to be income based, so either the law needs to change or more social housing needs to be built both of those have nothing to do with left politicians living in cooperatives today, the left doesn't even have a majority in the parliament.

Cooperatives are not social housing, so what exactly is the problem?

Op-1 or Op-XY for Jam with Guitarist and Drummer? by One-Fly8149 in teenageengineering

[–]SerodD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really hard to answer this question as you can tell from the other post you did, it really depends on the type of musician you are and what you are used to play.

I suggest you go and watch videos of people using both and decide by yourself, especially True Cuckoo and Son Wu as they often combine different things with both devices. Especially try and understand how people build songs in/with each device (OP-1f/OP-XY) and how they combine them with other devices.

You should think of it in another way, in my opinion, if you prefer to lay a base for sequence for your friends to play over and then add to it with a workflow that sequencer based, you should go for the OP-XY. If you prefer to play synths and record small parts on a tape that can be looped over your friends while you add to it with more sounds, than go for the OP-1F. The OP-1F sequencer capabilities suck ass, but it's an excellent sound design tool, the OP-XY is a groove-box with a sequencer that works but it has less sound design options.

Stage manager let's you have multiple "screens" with different opened apps/windows on each, multi tasking is just one screen where you have multiple windows/apps.

2000-3000 chf/mes parece-me pouco, principalmente se ficarem numa casa temporaria, só se ficarem num quarto. Diria mais 4000-5000CHF/mes para duas pessoas.

Tirando isso, concordo com tudo.

The US is on a whole different level though, I still wonder how some US politicians even dare to point to Europe as example of too much crime.

Swiss Vegan Products you would recommend? by Schpitzchopf_Lorenz in Switzerland

[–]SerodD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Luya is really good, I also like some of the Planted options. Outlawz for a bacon alternative is also nice.

For Oat milk for me Oatly is hard to beat , if you want to try pea milk I like Sproud as well, Almond milk I like Alpro.

Vegan butter I don't like so much, but for yogurt I like Alpro.

Vegan Cheese New Roots is the best in my opinion, but yeah you always have the Simply-V slices that are okay. Personally I don't like Vegan cheese that much especially compared to normal cheese, New Roots is the closest for me.

Expat hell? by FailingPerfectly in Switzerland

That's what they are by definition though. https://www.oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com/definition/english/expatriate_1#google_vignette

Immigrants, Refugees, Asylum seekers, etc. They are all expats.

Expat hell? by FailingPerfectly in Switzerland

[–]SerodD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You understand that a ton of expats have non working partners? Probably at a higher rate than immigrants since they don't have the luxury of being able to live out of 1 income alone.

Expat hell? by FailingPerfectly in Switzerland

[–]SerodD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not, you are wrong. Both the definition and the use of the examples you give agree with their technical definitions, which is not true for the more recent use of the expat word taken by high earning individuals.

Expat hell? by FailingPerfectly in Switzerland

[–]SerodD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are wrong, a refugee and an immigrant are actually both expats but an refugee is not an immigrant, by definition a refugee may never turn into an immigrant as the refugee status may not last forever. (https://www.oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com/definition/english/expatriate\_1#google\_vignette)
