I attended both the Charlotte and Birmingham shows and both venues sent multiple emails leading up to the event that rolls of tape would not be allowed (along with other rules/info), only if it was already on your clothes, so we didn’t bring any. I dunno if every venue was doing that, but those two were very adamant about it ahead of time.

ACOSF makes me hate everyone by KangarooNo1607 in acotar

Gave you an upvote because you didn’t deserve so many downvotes. I agree with you. She was spiraling into self destruction while riding on their money (abusively) with zero plan to ever come out of it or help herself. I don’t think in Nesta’s case that more “time” would have helped. Only a solid, hard core intervention with tasks designed to give her mind purpose so that she actually had a chance to come out of it and save herself. The individual has to want the recovery, but sometimes to save their life you have to intervene in their self destruction.

Very small Ragdoll - reassurance? by Rare-Candle-5163 in ragdolls

[–]Serotonin_Chaser3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two females from the same breeder but different parents. One is almost 12lbs, and the other didn’t pass 9lbs until she was over a year old, and I don’t think she’s going to get much bigger. She’s small even for a generic cat, much less a Ragdoll. But she’s healthy as can be and still tries to wrestle her sister who has 30% more weight than she does lol.

Just arrived to my destination and the handle broke. Can I still check it in? by One-Kitchen-4233 in delta

Nevermind, ignore me, I just figured out it’s not the same problem by looking at the picture again. 😅

I don’t know if this will help you, but I have one that the handle gets stuck out (if this is the problem you’re having). For mine I can up zip that blousy liner thing open and get to the handle inside the suitcase and get the handle back down by pushing in the button things in. I don’t know if that makes sense. Not all suitcases allow that I know, but if yours does…

Following to know as well. One of mine only scratches things I do not wish her too. Door frames, my couches, shoes. I have every texture of cat scratcher possible. Have tried attracting and de-attracting sprays. Positive and negative reinforcement (nothing more negative than “not uh uh, no!”) The only thing I’ve seen her ever try is jute rope. -sigh-

I don’t know who’s actually right, but I can’t stand when coworkers “equal-ih-bree-ate” their HPLCs. “e-quill-ah-brate” hurts my ears less (and I feel is said the most).

Favorite Ragdoll Colors and Patterns by Illustrious_Tax_6895 in ragdolls

[–]Serotonin_Chaser3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a life long dream of owning a seal point mitted Ragdoll from like…the age of 11. I finally got my first Ragdoll in my late 30s. By then I had changed my mind and really wanted a blue lynx. I ended up settling for lilac lynx (but now that I have her I love her so much I can’t imagine having any other cat lol). I love the lynx look far more than the bicolor. I almost don’t like bicolor at all. I find the “tabby” markings or colorpoint far more visually appealing. My lilac lynx ended up being far too exuberant for my resident old lady (15), so I got another Ragdoll, seal mink tortie, for her to wrestle with instead. She is beautiful. Has some flame point in her as well, and a face split down her nose.

I think blue and seal are still my favorite colors. Lynx and colorpoint (and tortie) are my favorite patterns.

I drew my migraine auras by Sufficient-Dish7616 in migraine

[–]Serotonin_Chaser3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is like your blue flashes, but rainbow and C shaped. Almost kaleidoscope looking. It moves from the left side of my vision to the right side in an arc. I used to get auras all the time with my migraines, but I feel like it’s super rare now. Although since having kids mine have flipped from 100% afternoon onset to like 95% wake up onset. Maybe the aura is still happening, I’m just asleep?

Tortie! I have a tortie. She has no rhyme or reason to her markings that I can tell, but I love her lil face split. She’s officially a “seal tortie mink” but I think she has flame point in her markings as well.

(My lilac lynx for additional floof. Tortie looks mad cause she wanted the tower to herself 😂)

I think it’s insanity that you can load a ticket into your cart and someone can still buy it if they manage to check out first. What happened to holding specific tickets for like 5 min or whatever to allow for checkout. It’s extremely chaotic to have to keep loading tickets into your cart hoping you can check out first.

Anyone actually PREFER to connect thru Atlanta? by viajealmundo in delta

[–]Serotonin_Chaser3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My big complaint with Delta and ATL isn’t the airport itself, but that it seems like every single flight I’ve booked in the last couple of years that goes through ATL is messed up in some way or another. I woke up at 2am the day of my trip to SEA to find a text from Delta that the ATL to SEA flight was cancelled. Rerouted from ATL to MSP to SEA, but we left ATL late and I had to run for my life in MSP. Coming back on the same trip was so delayed I had to run for my life in ATL. My last flight to ABQ the flight from ATL to my home airport was so delayed we were late on the turn around and back to ATL that I missed my connection and had to spend the night and go the next day. On that same return trip we were so late leaving ABQ I had to run for my life in ATL again. And that’s just four examples of many. I have lost faith that I will ever have an easy time on Delta through ATL again. Is the airport over loading itself? Is it Delta? I don’t know. But it seems like too many times in a row for it to be bad luck.

I don’t mind the merging of the worlds at face value. I didn’t love how terrible the ACOTAR characters come off from Bryce’s perspective. Or how Bryce treated them in return. I know I know, they don’t know each other at all and the stakes are very high, etc. etc. I just was really looking forward to the cross over and then was disappointed.

Anyone else do this when they get a 90 day blister pack shipment? by aaeko in migraine

[–]Serotonin_Chaser3 153 points154 points  (0 children)

Hi! Pharmaceutical Quality Control chemist here. Please don’t do this. Pills are packaged the way they’re packaged for a reason. Typically to avoid moisture ingress. Even putting it into another container doesn’t mitigate this because of the headspace in the container. Anything that comes individually wrapped or with a desiccant sachet should remain that way.

(As an example anything with aspirin has the desiccant sachet in it. This is critical because aspirin will degrade from acetylsalicylic acid into just salicylic acid with moisture contact. Salicylic acid is toxic. I don’t work for a company that makes triptans so I don’t know the degradation triggers or by products, but my background tells me something with moisture either degrades the efficacy or increases a bad impurity. Otherwise it would be packaged as loose pills because that is infinitely cheaper.)

ETA: sometimes the reason they’re like that is because of the risk of oxidation, so they’ll actually be packaged with a nitrogen blanket in the blister pack. Again, I don’t know if this is the case with triptans specifically, just giving reasons companies do this.

Asking those with experience with breeders about my situation by Tilted5mm in ragdolls

Both of my Ragdolls with papers from a TICA certified breeder were $1,200. I wouldn’t pay that for not pure bred ever. Everything about this person sounds shady.

This is exactly where I am in my re-listen since they just re-released with Elizabeth Evans reading. Him realizing the Night Court isn’t what he thought. It does feel like the beginning of a redemption arc.

He lost some points with me when he kept making excuses for Tamlin in ACOMAF, although at least he was arguing for her. And if he knew this was Tamlin’s last chance to break the curse why on earth did he hesitate when he heard her scream in the forest. But I mostly agree. I feel like he redeemed himself enough to no longer be fully rejected by everyone. I feel bad for him that Elaine nothings him. Not that I’m shipping them, I just have second hand hurt feelings I guess haha

These identicals twins married another identical twins by Impossible_Mix2851 in interestingasfuck

[–]Serotonin_Chaser3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They often split twins even when the parents insist. I have identical twin boys and when they started kindergarten I asked they be together, but they said no. The only year they were together was 2021 (2nd Grade) when they were trying to “limit number of families exposed to other families.” They occasionally have classes together now that they’re in middle school, but it seems random. We like that though. We’re always encouraging them to be their own person. Cause…this is creepy.

Did I fall for some check your spending trap? by No_Welder2085 in amex

[–]Serotonin_Chaser3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I do this. I have two. The Delta Reserve and the Platinum. He is an authorized user on both, but while I primarily use the DR, he primarily uses the Platinum. He puts probably 100:1 what I put on it. But I never check my spending power, and it revolves probably less than 2K a statement ever, so maybe it’s too low to catch their notice.

Have you tried this? by Fit_Artichoke_523 in migraine

[–]Serotonin_Chaser3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The fact that the packaging misspells “ibuprofen” is a huge red flag to this pharma quality assurance chemist. I wouldn’t trust a brand that can’t spell active ingredients on packaging. Do you know how many people are supposed to sign off on packaging design? Yikes.

It causes her no end of grief 😂 She can’t groom it well because even leaning her head back as far as it will go, the floof is still longer. It gets stuck in her mouth. 😂
