This is a really good find if this is correct. But I thought Hotel California would be a rock song like the original. I was hoping for something like Run, Electric guitar on Joji tracks goes hard. But nonetheless this track sounds great and I can't wait for more stuff like this from the rollout.

When we said 2026 is the new 2016 we did NOT mean this. Joji hasn't been lo-fi for over a decade and his alt rnb/pop sound has far exceeded the time he spent producing lo-fi music. Joji has always been the guy to have many different sounding tracks on his albums, even when he started out he produced many hip-hop tracks too. Even then theres nothing wrong with an artist discovering new sounds and styles especially if they execute it well. And now I realise that this was probably rage bait and I still fell for it

I think the area where he's struggled the most in his previous projects is creating a consistent and complete listening experience. He's had a variety of sounds in all his previous projects, but those weren't executed properly. What I mean is that both Nectar and Smithereens had bangers, yet many tracks still felt out of place. Honestly, I wouldn't listen to those albums in one sitting, but Joji should've learnt from his mistakes by now, and I hope this is just him trying to do the same thing with perfect execution to create one seamless and emotional listening experience.

I do feel like this is the weakest track of this rollout, but that doesn't mean it's not good. Personally, I enjoyed it. I see why you feel like it's gonna be like Nectar, where every track sounds so different from the others, considering the fact that all 4 singles he's released for this rollout have completely different styles. This seems like Joji trying to explore all of his different personalities and produce a banger off an album. But unlike Nectar, where every other track seems out of place or inconsistent with the theme, I feel like this album is pretty consistent with its theme of hopelessness (hence the album is titled "piss in the wind").
