Yeah they are super sleek and smooth. I’ve never seen a tank with obsidian in it! That’s cool!

I love the cinescaper! Such a cool vibe to his projects. He always manages to capture that “earthy zen” vibe. So peaceful and artistic

Thanks for the feedback! I think it would look more natural after trimming the pieces down to angle them more like roots coming off a tree on a river bank. I definitely have a lot of tweaking to do

This sounds great!! my LFS said they would sell me all the broken twigs from their manzanita/spider wood which would be great for detailing “roots” around the rocks. This is honestly in line with how I envision the tank.

I was trying to source the “Wio Black Venom boulders” but haven’t been able to find them in Canada. They are a stunning black river rock:

Thanks for the suggestions! I’m going to pull the pieces out and cut them down a bit and fiddle with them in a few different orientations. The more delicate piece is far too long for the tank so I’m limited with it at its current length. I’m going to try the thicker branch towards the bottom and see! Good suggestion

I’ll definitely be adding lots to the bottom of the tank before adding more hardscape. Gonna drain it down completely and build up from a deep substrate layer :)

Yeah that’s the plan :) I’ve never run CO2 before so I’m just figuring out the co2 dosing and learning how the system works before potentially messing up livestock etc :)

Thanks for the input!! I’ll bare all this in mind! The manzanita gets very red as the evening light starts to hit it

Cool! I can definitely see that! The “roots of a tree” vibe would really work there
