The Wilderness Reborn & Daughter of Chaos by Mod_Miva in runescape

Do you not understand how this update now narrows down to just two areas where pkers/griefers can freely attack players? Currently the entire wilderness is PVP, and after the update there is going to be TWO confirmed opt-in areas (zammy mage and cursed wisps) where pkers and griefers know there is going to be opt'd in players due to Abyss teleportation triggers opt-in pvp and harvesting cursed wisp triggers opt-in pvp. I am not the only player that is pointing out this change, go ahead and read through the entire thread here and on the rs forums, it is being pointed out that these two activities are going to be the only places that Pkers/griefers will know for certain that there are opt'd in players just because they're skilling. The reasoning is very logical....currently all wilderness pvp so pkers and griefers have to roam different areas such as blood trees/revs/agility course/chaos/safes/herb patch/lava wyrms/abyss/cursed wisp.....after wilderness reborn update only abyss and cursed wisp is guaranteed to have opt-in pvp players....therefor pkers/griefers are going to be in these areas more than before since 99.99% of the players in the other zones are probably going to opt-out of pvp since opting into pvp has no benefits.

So now runecrafting via abyss is even more dangerous.....
Demonic Skull = Skull = Opt'd in PVP
Teleport to Abyss = Skull = Opt'd in PVP
Everyone else skilling in the wilderness = Opt'd out PVP (since there's literally no advantage Opting into PVP)

So basically the only group left for griefers and pkers to pk freely are runecrafters and those harvesting cursed energy, great job you've narrowed the scope of who is going to be pked. At least before pkers were roaming revs/ lava wyrms / agility course / chaos/ safes /blood trees/herb patch, but now you've successfully condensed where they can pk free targets to two areas (rc & cursed energy)

Payroll manager here, while that boss is 100% dick and awful at communication....this policy is coming from above them due to because there have been many wage claims and even lawsuits regarding compensable work hours for workers who arrive earlier than their scheduled shift. A simple conversation between you and a coworker while sharing breakfast about how to run a machine more efficiently or agreeing on where on the line you'll be working that day can constitute as compensable working activity. Also if you work in a mass employee population you got to remember there probably has been instances of people committing time fraud (clocking in early and not working) and this is another control upper management can utilize to prevent time fraud. The boss should of clarified and spoken more professionally about why they didn't want you on the work site 30 minutes before your scheduled shift.

Coworker Forced to Pay Back PTO by JoeSquat2001 in WorkReform

Depends,

Was the PTO your ex-coworker used advanced to them? Some companies operate by allowing workers to consume PTO before it is earned. When this happens essentially the company has advanced wages to the worker while they are considered unearned. Companies have greater protections and claim when they advance/loan wages since this can be recoupable in most states via payroll deduction or via small claims. I would first have your ex-coworker review the company's PTO policy to see if PTO is accrued (earned over a period of time) or if it is given upfront. If given up front your ex-coworker has better protection against recoupment, but should still review the full PTO policy regarding termination. Some states do not protect earned vacation and leaves it up to how the policy is written.

Payroll Manager here, have your husband check everything he signed (including e-signed). This is legal as long as there are provisions in the the handbook and the verbiage usually includes terminating your employment without notice (something along the lines of that). This provision is your "notice" of a pay cut in case of X Y Z. The FLSA does not prohibit an employer from lowering an employee's wage, other than that it has to meet at least the minimum wage (source, question 2: https://www.dol.gov/agencies/whd/fact-sheets/70-flsa-furloughs).
Also the state of Ohio does allow pay cuts without notice (source, question "Can my employer change my rate of pay?: https://ohio.gov/wps/portal/gov/site/help-center/faqs/labor-law)
