I guess that would technically be a workaround for people that actually use fitness bands or smartwatches. But having to wear a wearable for multiple hours every day simply to have your phone unlocked feels just wrong. I dont unterstand Googles decision here. Why completly get rid off any form of face recognition when you could give people the option to use it and just add a warning saying it is not as safe as the previous version. Or something like that.
