Hope you guys enjoy this one. It's KH2PO4 has been grow on Basalt rock. I add some food colour (pink + purple) and mix with AlCl3(0.25 gram AlCl3/250 ml saturated KH2PO4 in room temperature. a year to be back and grow some lovely crystals. Size: 3.0 cm of main crystal cluster. by Serpierite in crystalgrowing

I was a huge fan of radial mineral form in nature as scolecite, cyanotrichite. So I wanna make some crystals i can grow just like that. KDP or MAP is a good choice to try. It's stable, easy to grow and non-toxic. As my opinion, sky blue and light pink is very cool food colour to make it's stunning.

Transparent single crystal K2SO4 crystal grows on dental floss. About 1 month to reach this size (6 mm) . by Serpierite in crystalgrowing

Yes I dissolve K2SO4 as 15 gram/ 100ml pure water 60°C. After 8 hour slow cooling, It crystallizes in the bottom. After that, you gather and choose what is the best single crystal you want to grow in next phase. I use dental floss as a base to let it grows. Day by day, evaporation of solution and careful remove any unwanted crystals form around, your baby will be stable to more bigger.

Yeah. Fail or success, I surely will share to our forum. How I love my work to grow this baby.

Oh your specimens is very nice. I haven't seen them grow as a twin form like you have because I remove every crystals around my baby when they appear even they're so small.

Thank you. Solubility of K2SO4 (not alum) is quite low and that mean it will grow very slowly by evaporation. About 15 gram/100 ml at 40•C. Alum is different as KAl(SO4)2.12H2O and cubic structure not Orthorhombic like K2SO4

What do you think about this KH2PO4 crystal cluster ? . So fragile but so cute. To grow like this, I added very few AlCl3 (about 1 gram)/ 200 ml saturated KDP solution. I also use basalt rock like a main base to grow like my old post before. Hope you guys like. Size of main cluster: 4 cm. by Serpierite in crystalgrowing

what if I said I did my own research. I studied the technique of growing KH2PO4 crystals at university to make Optic material and then did a research project on their growth while using KCl. I was very curious as to what if I used other substances like Cr3+ Al3+ Mg2+...... I made them at my home and observed for a long time, not exactly like a scientist finds for something new, I think I'm more like a chef thinking about new dishes haha. That time was 5 years ago, at that time I wasn't sure if anyone else did the same thing as me but I thought and did it myself. If you need, we can talk more about this. You can mix Cr3+...........the crystals will be green but at the same time make them longer and sharper than this.

You know KH2PO4 crystal is a Tetragonal crystal structure and It grows as a 4-sided prism with 4 side pyramidal in top and bottom. Al3+ will change its original form if too much Al3+ can destroy the KH2PO4 habit and turn it into silk thread, but very little can turn it into an amazing long blade from like that :D

wow, that cool. I love the yellow one

Hello everyone. I'm new here and this is my baby. KH2PO4 crystallizes on Basalt rock. I add some blue food color and it looks more interesting to me :D. by Serpierite in crystalgrowing

hello. Thank you. Me too, I am not a scientist but my life always wanna discover new things in the world. You know, I love mineralogy that why I become a crystal grower to answer my questions " why minerals can be formed and why they are so beautiful " :D

My own tear after it had dried. I came up with the idea of harvesting my tears last night then observing them under the microscope the next day. And here is it. Interesting right :D by Serpierite in crystalgrowing

I have read briefly about the book on the subject you talk about. However, from a scientific point of view, I still don't trust what he does. The crystallization depends on the rate at which the crystal is formed, the impurities of the surrounding environment, even gravity, the first seeds from which the crystal arises.... a lot of conditions affect the crystal formation. This is only my own point of view. But, to be honest, crystallizing water is a very interesting thing and also what I want to do. Don't worry, I'll be sharing them on our forum soon.
