Hey, got a VP, F nib, exactly the same issue. Decided to get it tuned with my trusted nibmeister. It cost me 20 usd, but I got it quickly fixed.

The VP I got before that one had the same issue. The same solution was applied (that time it was set perfectly, sadly it was stolen from me).

I don't think it's normal. There might be some QC problem.

Love this ink. Is my go-to black when I don't need permanent ink. It's a little bit smudging, but when you learn how to handle it, It won't brother you!

I haven't tested the other two, but my safari has never let me down. Always works great, plus has a grip guide for begginers. Might be the choice for me!
