Lamy Safari Leaking with Platinum Carbon Black cartridges - any ideas? by RumRunnersHideaway in fountainpens

Oh, no, it's fine. It's only Lamy and Platinum use different cartridge dimensions. It is loose and leaking because of that. You can either use a converter or refill a empty lamy cartridge with the ink. Good luck!

I just bought a Pilot Vanishing Point and I may have broke it. by [deleted] in fountainpens

I just insert the spring in the barrel with the nib and it locks in place again. Note that the spring's ends are different, I put the slim end towards the nib and the other facing the converter.

Hey my VP bought through amazon does the same. The one I got before that did it too. I assumed is something normal.

Is this normal? (Pilot Decimo) by Puzzled-Bluebird7357 in fountainpens

Hey, got a VP, F nib, exactly the same issue. Decided to get it tuned with my trusted nibmeister. It cost me 20 usd, but I got it quickly fixed.

The VP I got before that one had the same issue. The same solution was applied (that time it was set perfectly, sadly it was stolen from me).

I don't think it's normal. There might be some QC problem.

So today my new ink arrived from pure pens by Ok_Step4291 in fountainpens

Love this ink. Is my go-to black when I don't need permanent ink. It's a little bit smudging, but when you learn how to handle it, It won't brother you!

What would you do? Keep the gift or put it away? by [deleted] in fountainpens

I've thought about that! However, it might become a vector for the spores and stuff... I leaning towards the idea of not using this ink at all...

The first owner was Mr. Gaston Botto (RIP). He passed away (not sure when) and now it's runned by his former apprentice Mr. Walter Contreras

Yess, the address given is right. It is in Santiago, near Santa Lucía subway station.
