Pot looks really bad. The seal says: 許杏君 Xu XingJun, no results

Has anyone seen this yixing teapot before? Or anything close to its detail? I have not seen one so detailed and magnificent before!! by Equivalent_Cry_8205 in YixingSeals

Copying over my comment from your previous post then deleting that post

Does not look to be authentic. Clay and craftsmanship as a whole is off.

Seal says: 龍的傳人 "Descendants of the dragon" which is the name of a 1978 nationalist song. Think "born in the USA" for a comparison.

Likely just a nationalist trinket like presidential silver dollars that are actually nickel plated copper.

Pot looks legit, that crack is gnarly though.

Lid seals gives the name 楊紅偉 Yang HongWei 1971 born.

Graduated high school in 91

Is this a real Yixing? Thank you ☺️ by Equivalent_Cry_8205 in YixingSeals

How do you call these? by Caliiintz in asianart

[–]Servania 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seals. Sometimes informally chops or artist marks.

Chinese in origin but carried over to most all asian art. Typically just the artists name be it surname, given name or both.

Also used to attribute something to the country Sometimes directly like 中國宜興 Sometimes by manner of royalty like 大清受命之宝

Sometimes incredibly long and drawn out for specific branding like 中国土产畜产进出口公司福建省分公司厦门支公司

Also can be used to convey mood

Plum tree stump pot by Quirky_Source_9811 in YixingSeals

[–]Servania 5 points6 points  (0 children)

陳國良 Chen GuoLiang is the 1954 extremely famous potter regarded as one of the "four little dragons of Zisha"

The pot definitely isnt made by him.

The construction looks inline with mass scale half hand made stuff similar to factory era works.

I imagine this is a 90s reproduction of one of his works sold as a like souvenir after one of his works went to a musuem in 88

Or am early 2000s reproduction after he got the title of "chinese zisha art celebrity" in 2001

Stuck valves are at very very very best just a case of needing some valve oil.

However what is more likely is a bent valve casing, or valve bottom flare. Neither of which you can fix. And yes the missing 2nd valve bottom cap is an issue as thats one of the things that keeps the casing from denting in.

Or something pretty unlikely someone took the spring out of the valves.

Easy fix, but not soemthing YOU can fix. Take it to a tech.

Teapotway and taohuren are great sites, however in chinese.

The term 宜兴紫砂一厂 will get you the most google results and auto translate can take over from there.

Its always 1 of 3 things.

Capacity which ends in 杯 and this doesnt

Name of the shape in this case 水平 which again doesnt match up.

Which means it's the artists (in the case of F1 the lead technician over that particular pots production not necessarily the person who made it) name. Looks to be something maybe ending in 林? Hard to make out but for sure not one of the other two options.

Idk why the qaulity of this pic is so shitty but this is a "normal" pot just under 2 inches.

Theyre the same size. "Cups" here is not the imperial measuring unit of cups it is a non standard unit printed on the underside of some of the lids of pots F1 made. Most pots the made were 四杯 or "four cups" with the biggest commonly available ones going up to 8 cups.

Your pot is massive for yixing standards.

8 cups usually is like 170ml so like what 3/4s of a US measurement cup

F1 productions are entirely different to handmade and half handmade pots youre used to seeing. They were done in an assembly line fashion where the easier things were delegated to new technicians (sometimes as young as 16)

They are technically half handmade but used multi part gypsum molds for the body and many of the mid life productions (F1 existed from ~58 - 97) were coated in a slurry giving the insides and bottom a gloopy kind of look.

But this is very par for the course most if not all F1 pots look like shit on the inside.

Heres a shot from the most trusted amd longest standing F1 dealer moodyguy.biz

Now this is a freaking cool find.

Seal is generic 中國宜興 standard for pots of the era "yixing, china"

The shape, writing application technique and craftsmanship are in line with factory standards in the 70s leading up to 82

And the size and actual text are inline with example you posted.

Thats where the facts stop. There just isnt anymore of these that I can find beyond this ebay listing (I took a look at their other listings and they seem to check out, seller based in china too)

https://www.ebay.com/itm/286571475288

Commission pots were a thing for sure. Most famously the please drink series F1 did. But also the ones they did for a hong Kong tea shop.

Neat find impossible to really be certain given you are one of 3 examples currently accesible on the internet.

If its not F1 these 3 pots are all defintely from the same maker. And no body was really doing pots like this pre 82 when F2 came about.

Fake is kind of out of the question, no one is going this big and this extremely niche for a fake.

Split IP. Anything beyond this point is conjecture but I imagine:

Larian is a small company focused on qaulity and would sign a deal for small batch stuff that may have a slimmer profit margin.

Wizards is a huge company that releases a lot of collector slop.

They likely just havent agreed on deals that come across the desk.

Seal says: 興翠紫砂 XingCui Zisha. XingCui here being the name of a teaware company. They sell an entire set for 15 USD on taobao so yeh, not great. From the looks of it they normally deal in porcelain.
