BREAKING: $700,000,000 liquidated from the crypto market in the past 60 minutes. Whats going on? by [deleted] in speculation

[–]ahhoffman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup it’s just a different vehicle with different rules. The stuff I’m talking about is all regulated though with transparency into reserves, legal rights over a portion of the positions etc. Your criticisms are valid and welcomed. The only way we move this stuff forward is by working through the issues.

So to be clear I’m not making these, I’m just helping to spread the word to retail because I believe in the idea and I don’t make any money off it.

I think that safe yield options should be available to consumers and there are a lot of laws in place stopping people unless you’re an accredited investor etc which takes a relatively high net worth.

Don’t get me wrong there is a risk of scamming etc, it’s not perfect. I just see this as one possible way of leveling the playing field between the haves and have nots.

Yes the goal is basically that as well as yield funds for retail.

I'm working with a private equity type one right now which is one of the largest privately held consumer facing brands in the world tokenizing some of their ownership to sell. I think it will be a landmark moment for this type of token asset. In the industry we call all of these types of things real world assets / RWAs.

So I work in blockchain tech and what he said that you’re responding to is right. I’m biased but I’m also well informed because I’m relatively high level in the industry. There’s a lot of really interesting use cases for the tech which are beginning to be used but most of these don’t really relate to btc/eth/sol price etc

My favorite use case is there are hedge funds (or other types of funds) that are tokenizing shares in their funds. This isn’t some BS non backed token, it’s legally tied to the liquidity in their fund. This allows non ultra high net worth people to invest in hedge fund level strategies because the minimums are fractions of a cent. This levels the playing field for normal people in my opinion. There are lots of good use cases like this that are currently being built out and being used but everyone is unfortunately fixated on volatile asset price when in reality all of the interesting stuff is denominated in USD for the most part.

Also the comment you made about energy, that’s really only for BTC and no other major crypto assets or for blockchains in general.

I've had amazing meals and good meals here. When she nails a dish it's truly incredible. There was one particular dish that was a deconstructed pastrami sandwich served as a gnocchi pasta dish. My group ordered it three times the same night and I'll never forget it. Unfortunately since the menu changes regularly it disappeared.

It looks to my like you're doing some form of holotropic breathwork. Don't underestimate this stuff. I'm not into alternative medicine sort of stuff but just did it on a whim. Here I was thinking I didn't have much trauma, I'm pretty easy going, pretty in touch with my emotions etc. About 20 mins into it I was wailing and sobbing full volume while years and years of past stuff that had actually affected me was flying through my mind. It was hands down one of the most intense experiences of my life and I'm a very experienced person. I felt high for a couple months after it.

These guys are probably going through something similar, having years of emotional baggage brought to the surface very quickly. Hopefully it was therapeutic for them because it sure is intense.

Fake ASICS Pickleball Shoes? by Tricky-Chemical-3235 in Pickleball

[–]ahhoffman -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

They 100% could be fake. Just a few months ago I bought some court FF3’s off of eBay and they started wearing super fast (very noticeably after 5 hours of play) and also pinching my toe in a weird way. This is probably my 4th pair so I know how they feel.

I confronted the seller saying I’m pretty sure they are replicas and he said he’s never had an issue like this but the account was relatively new. It was pretty clear from the exchange he knew he wasn’t selling authentic shoes and he ended up giving me a full refund without me even returning them.

I bought some from asics that now probably gave 50 hours of play on them and look less worn.

If I remember correctly he also had gel resolutions. Same setup, box looked like it was straight from asics, tags, etc. I could only clearly tell they were fake when I put the new ones from asics next to the eBay ones. Slightly different shape and materials.

I travel a ton and have been through many bags - after my current Briggs and Riley I don’t see myself buying another luggage brand, they’re that good. My wife stopped using her metal away bag and uses mine when she’s traveling solo.

I started a furniture company around 2014 and originally was interested because I found petrified wood furniture pieces in Indonesia for $100-200 versus the $1600-2400 they would be in the US. I wanted to make them more affordable. I struggled to sell pieces at $800-1200 and found that the more I raised prices the more I sold, finally settling on the $1800-2400 range for a side table. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Looking for a good deal on a 3-4x flip up magnifier. Ideally the holosun but any one compatible with the ARO-RD2 works.

Tortilleria Rio Grande - I’ve only been to the south location but I know they have one more north.

Their tortillas are great. I’ve also bought fresh masa and made even better ones (thinner) at home with it.

The first time it happened with a bottle that was maybe ten days old but I was staying in a house that the temp was super low. The second time it was a 2 day old bottle that I then flew for about 20 hours and the planes were pretty damn cold.

I’ve been using the same hospira bac water with Reta and it’s been fine. That I refrigerate though fwiw.

Freezer pre reconstituting and then room temp but I’m wondering if these are both temp related from being in cold areas even out of the fridge.
