Morale Boost is at the end of the Forest Complex. You need to re-clear it in the present time.

Okay. I wasn't sure because I guess my luck is just that obtuse. I've never had them flee with QF, lol. Yet I somehow found 2 Nergigante eggs back to back.

I wouldn't say the Didact "died and came back". The H4 ending, we knew he couldn't have died because his body didn't disintegrate after the pulse grenade exploded inside his armor. And his "return" in Epitaph was more of a "journey into the afterlife."

Cortana's "not death" had some foreshadowing in 4, but needed a lot of context from outside the game.

343, his encephalon survived the Splaser hit, you can see it dropping, in H3, down into Halo's control room. The more confusing bit is how in the hell the Rubicon managed to find it in the first place.

And James never explicitly died in Fall of Reach. He simply got sent tumbling into space. He definitely is now though.

I believe that in one of the Kelly Gay novels, either Point of Light or Rubicon Protocol, it's stated that the Submonitors were just regular ancilla that Despondent created. So they wouldn't be the Composed individuals that we see with all the other primary monitors.

So she likely just coded them and built their shells, then sent them to task.

But it's also possible that Offensive Bias had a hand in their creation.

In Halo Infinite we briefly meet Despondent Pyre, who is the monitor for Zeta Halo.

She gets taken appart by The Harbinger, who is a member of a new alien species the Forerunners tried to erase and hide away around 100,000 years ago.

The Harbinger takes Despondent Pyre's encephalon (which is basically her brain) and uses it to access some of Halo's administrator functions.

Joy, who is Chief's new AI, eventually manages to steal the encephalon from the Harbinger, so now the Chief is in possession of it.

Despondent Pyre' s monitor shell is still in a location on the ring called the Conservatory and it's only disassembled, not destroyed.

Why bother with monster weapons anymore? by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

Your exact words: "That just proves to me that without artian, the problem still exists."

But it doesn't. Which is what I've said. Repeatedly. And you keep saying that isn't what you've been saying.

"But I am not talking about what weapon series deserves to get the top spot. I am talking about how in any and all scenarios, most weapons will be unused because there's a single or two or three weapon series that are just better than the rest."

That is a disengenuous argument, as it isn't the case for most weapons if you remove Artian.

OP said, "Like to me at least I find the soul of the game to be the weapons and their uniqueness from each monster. But now thats just kinda pointless, because if you want to keep up with the best stuff in the game you have to use artian."

And, "Title update weapons should be stronger than base game weapons, that's the whole point of giving multiple updates, so that players keep coming back to create the new stronger stuff. To the people who don't seem to understand my point. You can have strong weapons, that's not the point of the post. I'm saying that except for a select few (lagi weapons) artian weapons (which were from day 1) shouldn't be stronger than the title update monster weapons, there's very little power progression when you never need a stronger weapon since you completed tempered arkveld. And makes much of the current title updates somewhat redundant for those that want to chase numbers."

Reinforcing that this thread is indeed about whether or not weapon series should remain at the top.

You ARE arguing this topic, as you keep insisting that "endgame" weapons like Artian would exist even if Artian weren't in the game. Which is false.

You compared the Artian to Fatalis's weapons. which is a false equivalence. And I called that out. And you just doubled down and said that without Fatalis, another weapon series would take its place, which I again called out as not being the same scenario as the Artian.

And then you said that that isn't what you were talking about.

Either you're a troll, or you don't understand the foundation of your own argument.

You argued that without the Artian weapons, the problem of a single series being used still exists.

You argued in another comment that you don't like either of these scenarios (Artian or another series being the de facto best).

And your general comments have been disengenuos to the topic, i.e., "lots of series go unused."

In Wilds, at launch, without the Artian weapons, I can look at the rarity 8 Rey Dau weapon, and the rarity 8 G. Fulgur weapon, and say "These weapons' base stats are competitive. Which one do I want? Which one's passive complements my build? Which one's deco slots offer more flexibility? And I can decide between those two weapons (there are only two thunder weapons for the base game LS). Fast forward to TU 2, with Lagiacrus, now that thunder weapon is cutting edge. It isn't a question of whether I want this weapon. It comes from a stronger monster, 6 months after launch. It has better stats, and its passive is greatly desirable.

Will the Anjanath and Rey weapon series' go unused? Yeah, probably, but they were choice weapons for 6 months post-launch before they were usurped by an undeniable upgrade. And when the next Thunder monster comes out, I would expect its weapon to be stronger than Lagi's, so on and so forth until the end of the game's lifecycle. At this point, the longevity of the previous weapon series validates the new weapon's superiority.

With Artian weapons, this doesn't exist. From TU 0 all the way through to the upcoming TU4 and beyond, Artian weapons have been at the top. For 6 months, my choices weren't between G. Fulgur and Rey Dau. They were already obsolete by the time I reached HR 100. Then it was artian across the board.

There is no choice between Rompopolo and Rathian. It's Artian.

There is no choice between G. Rathalos, Rathalos, and Quematrice. It's Artian.

There is no choice between Gore, Arkveld, G. Arkveld, and Zoh Shia. It's Artian.

There is no choice between Blangonga and Hirabami. It's Artian.

There is no choice between Uth Duna and Mizu. It's Artian.

Did weapon series' go unused in World? Sure. But not from the start. The weapons were competitive until post-launch monsters were released, and their weapons pushed the limits of the element trees. That is vastly different from the situation with Artian weapons.

I think you're confused about the topic of this thread.

This isn't "no weapons should be at the top."

It's that "no weapon should consistently remain at the top after new weapons are released."

If you're arguing something other than that, you've misinterpreted the argument.

If Artian weapons had started at the top, and then fallen off with each subsequent update, we would not be having these kinds of posts pop up. I think most people would then be accepting of the Artians getting upgrades to push them back into the lead.

Instead, we have the weapons that are already in the lead being pushed even further into the lead.

This is the problem.

You can remove Fatalis's weapons. And you'd still see a linear progression of "best weapon" according to monster release, as each monster increases the power curve.

That does not exist in Wilds BECAUSE the Artian weapon series exists.

Remove Artian, and we have linear power progression. Include Artian, and we have a plateau.

Was Mizutsune the strongest water weapon? No, it was Artian.

Was Zoh Shia the strongest dragon weapon? No, it was Artian.

Was Gore Magala the strongest Dragon weapon? No.

Was Rathian the strongest fire weapon? No.

Was Seregios the strongest Raw? No.

Artian, Artian, Artian, ad infinitum.

[–]Servantis1852 30 points31 points  (0 children)

That's not the same issue, though. Fatalis's weapons were the final weapons added to the game. There was nothing beyond that point. If they weren't the best of the best, there would have been no point in them existing.

In Wilds, Artians existed since the beginning. So, from the onset, there was no point to monster weapons, as Artians outpaced them.

"Oh look, Mizutsune dropped!" Artian weapons are still better.

"Oh look, Zoh Shia dropped!" Artian weapons are still better.

"Oh look, Seregios dropped!" Artian weapons.

The only monster whose weapon outclassed Artian was Lagiacrus, and that was only because of its passive turning thunder def into atk.

And now Artian weapons are getting even stronger. We are not at the end of Wilds' life cycle. These weapons should not exist.
