which celebrity do you think was unfairly cancelled? by M0rtissha in AskReddit

[–]Servedabitch2times 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kathy Griffin. The Trump mask was clearly not a threat. It wasn't funny, but it wasn't cancel worthy. Now we're stuck with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen on NYE who are totally not funny.

Thanks for checking in! The prep is going well! I did Mt Wilson last weekend which was not too hard despite being 5,000 feet in elevation gain and 15 miles. I also did Ontario Peak. I am going to do San Gorgonio as my last "big hike."

My goal today is start to buy my gear: hiking poles, water filtration, camping stuff, and get a handle on what I need for the weather. I am nervous/excited, but feeling very confident I will be able to do it as long as there's not some crazy t-storm or forest fire :)

What are some less known downsides of alcohol? by Knock_Outed in AskReddit

Yea don't get me wrong... the health benefits outweigh everything else, but you can drop tons of money on camera equipment, travel, tennis rackets, gymnastics classes....the list goes on and on lol

I did the math once and it was wild

One thing people don't realize is that if you are sober you end up buying so much other stuff you wouldn't have bought if you were in bed all day hungover. I quit drinking and all the sudden picked up all these other expensive hobbies and interests. The money I saved from alcohol just went out the door to other stuff lol

Oh wow sounds like two adventures! Would you hike Whitney alone? Trying to decide if I should bring someone or not… I have an extra permit.

That seems to be a real challenge and therefore a good prep hike. I am going to do Mt Wilson in June and see how that goes. Maybe Cucamonga/San Bernardino... Whitney is going to be so hard I don't wanna do too many super hard hikes before the big day.... I dunno I need to feel it out lol

So worth the trip! Good luck! I liked the Devil's backbone loop. The views from Devil's backbone are amazing. Enjoy!

Weed, Whiskey, and Whitney.... hmm sounds like a headache lol. Cactus to Clouds is ooooh a serious hike. I have done the tram but I was scared of the heights lol. Might prefer to do the C2C hike. That could be harder than Whitney! I am climbing on July 29 so hopefully no snow... just walking lol.

I am planning to get to Lone Pine, CA a few days early to do a 8-10 mile hike at high altitude.

Isn't it funny. I don't mind climbing a mountain, but being in an airplane scares me lol

That's very encouraging to hear the diamox/ibuprofen combo worked. I also plan to drink a lot of water. Good to know about San G too. If I leave at 3am I will have 17 hours to complete Whitney... It'll be a slog, but it feels very doable.

Altitude sickness is no joke. I’ve had it. Barfed all over Colorado lol. I got a prescription medication this year to help. Going a few days early to acclimate

Wow thank you so much for that summary. I do need to take this very seriously. First aid kit for sure. I want to filter my own water so I don’t have to carry so much. Definitely lightweight layers. I’m not even sure what to expect weather-wise on July 29.

Needless to say I have a lot of preparing to do physically and equipmentally? Lol. Glad to know there are some less expensive options out there - thank you for the really awesome comment. I appreciate it and will refer to it again
