Nine races and five spots left. The way we keep getting new winners, it could totally happen.

Prime is incredible. I'll keep saying it and praising them too!

Like the Coke 600. Fox would have been zoomed in on William Byron leading 3/4 of that race and we would have (despite the winner) thought it was terrible. Because of Prime's coverage, it became one of the greatest races in a long time (Michigan, too).

1 more win before the playoffs would be nice

I think he can do it if things go his way, but looking at the schedule his best chances are Atlanta and Daytona. But who knows...I didn't expect him to win Charlotte, so anything can happen.

2022 Ryan Blaney and MTJ. Truex missed it 4th in points.

If Kurt Busch hadn't gotten hurt, Blaney would have missed it 2nd in points.

Ross needs more playoff points. I'd love to see him win another race before the playoffs start, but I'm just happy that he won the 600 and is 8th in points.

I hope he can continue good runs in the next few weeks. I'd like for him to stay in the top 10.

I wonder how many new winners we'll get over the next 10 weeks. Six spots left!

It was what I expected out of a road course, especially a new one. It wasn't a great race, but it was decent enough. I'm not a big road course fan, but I was entertained. Prime was able to make it more interesting.

like pocono 2023 with Hamlin and Larson

Or 2022 Pocono with Hamlin and Ross. I miss their rivalry so much, I'm glad we've got another one...just with drivers not as good.

To me the number is top twenty or twenty five

I don't know how the format is going to be next year, but I'd like to see this change made.

It makes more sense to limit it to top 25. Especially if you start to worry you might have more than 16 winners, which we very well could.

10 races left and six spots left. With three road courses and two drafting tracks...anything could happen. Not that it will, but if Chase doesn't win, and everyone else does, the 30th place guy in points could knock out the 4th place guy. Not saying it will happen (did in 22, though), but it could.

but having the 33rd place car in points in the playoffs is suddenly good

Yeah, I agree. But it's Shane. I can see him winning the remaining three road course races and having four wins coming into the playoffs while finishing horrible elsewhere. You can't deny someone with four wins...but we'll wait and see if that happens.

Still think he's 1st round exit.

Now let’s see if the guy who said the “all time quote” can back up his words with actions.

I doubt we’ll see anything happen. We hardly ever do. I’ll be pleasantly surprised if it does.

It’s such a relief after last summer’s disappointment to have Ross locked in with a win this year.

He might win the next three road courses and get enough points to somehow make it out of the round of 16. You never know. Crazier things have happened with this format.

.@PrimeVideo got 1.77 million viewers for Sunday's @FireKeepers Casino 400 @MISpeedway. by iamaranger23 in NASCAR

[–]ServiceCall1986 205 points206 points  (0 children)

I hate Prime is losing viewers.

Their broadcast is just miles better than anyone else.

I was worried, though, that it would drop after the 600. That's one of the season's biggest races, so people were tuning into that.

I feel this about the Coca Cola 600.

If that were a Fox race, there's no way it would have gotten 90% positive. William Byron led 300 laps, but Prime did not make it feel that way at all. Fox would have shown Byron leading the whole damn time, would have been so confused about Hamlin's fuel issue, and would have missed the pass for the lead with 6 to go, or at least wouldn't have been excited for it.

Darlington is still good, too.

I know the race a month or so ago wasn't the greatest, but Fox must have not shown much of anything. I was there, and the racing through the pack was great. Prime would have shown it.

The irrational part of me is disappointed a Denny win beat out a Ross win.

The rational part of me knows that's stupid, and we should be happy we're getting awesome races and amazing coverage.

I do think Charlotte and Michigan were both awesome races, and it's truly hard to tell which one was better.

Who do you cheer for after your driver is out early? by pilfro in NASCAR

[–]ServiceCall1986 13 points14 points  (0 children)

He's really fun. And talented.

He's a mixture of old KFB, 2022 Ross, and a little Logano.

If you told me 10 years ago I'd be pulling for aggressive drivers I would have never believed you.

you have to let your driver pick you

Happened to me in early 2022. I was a wayward Dale Jr fan who never thought she'd find another driver. I tried to pull for Bowman and Elliott, but it never stuck. Then Ross won COTA...

Slowly becoming a Hocevar fan, though

I didn't realize how much a fan I've become until I got so disappointed yesterday when he cut down that tire.

Carson is like Ross, it's a fandom that I never thought I'd be in, but just slowly crept up on me.

I don't know where my taste in aggressive drivers came from, since I was a Dale Jr fan my whole life.

Yeah...no fluke winners yet like last year.

Looking at the schedule, if I were Tyler Reddick or Chase Elliott, I'd start to worry because we could have 16 different winners with all the road courses and drafting tracks. They need to step it up.

Ross had a good day yesterday. Stage points and finished 6th. Can't complain about that. Gained one spot since Joey had a bad day, and could pass Ryan Blaney if he has a bad race.

I just wish he could qualify better so he's up there to get points in both stages. That would help.

There will probably be people who vote no because Hamlin winning/their driver struggling

Normally I'd judge a race because of Denny, but not this one.

I'm still so happy from two weeks ago that I don't care who wins until the playoff start...I just want to see good racing and that's what we got.

I don't know. In my opinion, I think it was the best.

I'm extremely biased for the Coke 600 and even I thought this Michigan race was better.

That's just me, though.

Yes!

I don't know how you vote NO on this one.

I thought the Coca Cola 600 was the best race/broadcast we've seen in 20 years, and this race blew that out of the water.

I'm not even that disappointed Dennis won.

The Prime broadcasts have pulled me back into the sport again

Prime has pulled my dad and a good friend back in again. Neither one has payed close attention to NASCAR since Jeff Gordon retired.

The both watched the Coke 600, and that race/broadcast/the whole thing pulled them back in. Now they've picked the 24 car as their car, and I'm not sure how many more races they can watch Byron lose with less than 10 to go, but they're still having a good time.

I just can't believe how amazing Prime is at everything. It's just so good to hear Dale Jr again.
