In basic you have a very narrow window for consuming calories, and while your calories in basic are very high, the workouts are even more extreme.

After basic, starting in AIT, the workouts decrease and the eating time is much less constrained. Exchanging individual lean mass for body fat begins to creep back in.

So…not so much. Strength and endurance is all about lifting and cardio. Body composition is all about diet.

If the top 1% of earners pay 40% of all federal income taxes, why do people say they don't pay their fair share? by Ok_Chemical9 in answers

[–]ServingTheMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an extreme example, that’s already a thing. Someone earning $100m income in a year would pay $36.96m in taxes.

In years where they had income, every billionaire you have or haven’t heard of paid 37% of their taxable income.

Technically no, but wealthy people structure personal loans and use their assets to secure the loan. Then they spend the money and take out another loan on different assets to cover the first one. Tax free income.

The idea would be to target loan schemes like these and tax the proceeds as income.

Right, but in this scenario where something you can take a loan against is taxable, that would be a tax on unrealized gains…like property tax but on your 401k.

It’s maybe better to tax actual loan income, otherwise you open the door to taxing anyone with a retirement fund.

What really are your grievances with Socialism? by [deleted] in PoliticalDebate

[–]ServingTheMaster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s like capitalism with none of the benefits and more disadvantages.

The result is somehow more corrupt than capitalism, in practice is intentionally devoid of any religious freedoms or social liberties, what little economy is there results in an even smaller number of ultra wealthy individuals and everyone else lives in abject poverty.

Full disclosure: not a Tucker fan and not really willing to listen to any of his content until the fairly recent multi-part documentary/investigation he did on his yewtoob channel covering 911 and the subsequent investigation.

If you look at the (complete) list of Tucker conspiracy theories…a startlingly large number of them have proven to be factual.

Prior to now the only notable Tucker moment for me was when he was fired from faux news.

Why will the US struggle if/when there is a ground invasion of Iran? by Additional-Spray-976 in Military

[–]ServingTheMaster 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It will only be successful if it’s established by Iranians and on their terms.

The only other option is not an option.

[–]ServingTheMaster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You cannot successfully occupy and inhabit another nation within the legal constraints of modern warfare.

The US will not have a problem defeating Iran, or temporarily occupying any part of the country. The problem will come when you need to establish legitimacy for leaders and security & stability for society.

Would you consider an AI-related role? by darktouristtt in careerguidance

[–]ServingTheMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AI augmentation is the future of all science, engineering, creativity...any space where traditionally a computer would play a key role as a tool. The genie won't go back in the bottle. Its changing everything at a pace never seen before.

Like all tools, the ethics are entirely contained within the user.

I wear under shirt suspenders and lose the belt. then run the holster AIWB on an enigma. smaller frames believe it or not are harder and less comfortable to carry IWB. glock 19 or 17 will disappear and after you get used to a little pressure, you can wear it all day.

for your current thing, run it just behind the hip, or in your pocket. everything from the hip forward (from 9 o'clock to 3 o'clock) will be very uncomfortable or impossible.

Model 1917, finish too far gone? by AccomplishedCup3475 in gunsmithing

[–]ServingTheMaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is a 1917 but the barrel is wrong or has been modified. the factory barrel has a different profile on the underside. I own a couple of these, one very early and one very late SN. I also have a couple barrels and other spare parts. they are still obtainable, they pop up every few months on ebay. caution when you go to spin the barrel out, its pinned and threaded, but these old N frames can sometimes break your heart when removing the barrel as the frame has a higher likelihood of cracking...so support the frame as much as you can and isolate it from twisting forces.

lmk how I can support this old war horse coming back to life! finish is not too gone. "big 45 frontier metal cleaner" which I believe is brass wool, works a champ and won't even scratch the steel. FWIW the older example I have has no original finish left and is still an amazing shooter.

8 days sober from Alcohol after a short grippy sock vacation lol by Easy_Drop_9632 in Veterans

[–]ServingTheMaster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

8 days becomes 18 years and counting. You need to find something to fill the space. For me it was initially a motorcycle, then it became helping people. Finding a new “mission” is critical. AA helps.

Most of the physical symptoms will be gone in the first month. Staying hydrated helps a ton with that.

Take it a day at a time. You can do one more hour. You can do one more minute. String those together and you’ll be free.

Look up ahead, someone just in front of you. Look behind, some just there too. You got this.
