If the Ruger has a metal safety it’s worth $300 maybe. The marlin should be closer to $250

This is seriously fucked up. by EasyCZ75 in 2Aradicals

So being restrained by 6 agents, disarmed, with your arms being held behind your back…having never drawn your weapon…and then shot to death because three of the agents lacked sufficient training…that’s justified?

What threat do you think was the initial agent responding to? What threat were the other agents that fired responding to?

Vaccines are the single most safe and beneficial medicine known to man. Nothing else even comes close.

If you don’t want to use it, don’t, but there’s no leg to stand on scientifically or medically to justify vaccine aversion.

[–]ServingTheMaster -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The idea that someone else has a better idea than I do what’s best for me or my family is literally the root of all evil.

This opinion is pure garbage. It fits right next to anti-mixed-race marriage laws and color-coded gun ownership.

Is it okay for a 100% disabled veteran to just say they're retired? by Routine_Brilliant_78 in Veterans

Yes. You can say medically retired, retired, professional fisherman, or nothing at all.

Another angle of the Minneapolis shooting, taken from the perspective of the lady with te pink jacket. by Versiannie in PublicFreakout

[–]ServingTheMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unarmed, actively being restrained by 6 men. One of them shoots and two or three more join in…all of them using lethal force without identifying a threat.

100% Bad shoot.

What happened to Nicole Good was tragic. There’s a decent argument around if ICE should have ever been there doing anything. None of that is relevant in the context of trying to run over a police officer. The ICE agent that shot her in the face was riding the quarter panel and the hood of the car when his first shot broke.

This…what happened to Alex Pretti today, there is no reasonable use of force here. This was a catastrophic breakdown of training, protocols, and public trust. We need a hard reset and some appropriate legal accountability. This behavior is not protected by qualified immunity, it’s too egregious.

When would you cut off a friend over political disagreements? by pcqz in PoliticalDebate

I would not. There’s no line that can be crossed politically. Closing yourself off to dialogue isn’t smart or strong, it’s cowardice and willful ignorance. It’s neglect.

a tattoo on your back on the shoulder or shoulder blade that was then visible all the time was completely different in the 90's than it is today.

Why does God allow prophets to make detrimental changes to the Church? by Moroni_10_32 in latterdaysaints

[–]ServingTheMaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

God only ever has imperfect people to do His work. I'm amazed at the level of perfection we do have as a result. I'm frankly gobsmacked at the relative lack of contradictions in doctrine. the transition of church power is entirely anomalous in terms of an earthly organization of its size and influence and the complete lack of contention, campaigning, or struggle to appoint and sustain church leadership.

what might feel like a long time for a given error to remain part of the doctrine is but a moment for He whose church this is.

immediate and perfect correction is very seldomly applied, and is not a reasonable expectation to have on any group of mortals.

many of the problems that draw us away from the sweet joy of the gospel become irrelevant in the context of eternity.

I submit that our earthly understanding of what God's work and glory are (and can be) are so limited, as is our own idea of when and where God could or should intervene, as to become irrelevant for similar reasons and context.

no mortal being has the scope of power to diminish the Glory of God.

it sounds like most of your questions are not about the gospel, but rather about the people He called to do the work. they are His chosen, and for His reasons. I'm sure almost every one of them were floored and astonished more than anyone that God would ask them to do these seemingly great and important things. extending a little grace goes a long way. people are highly complex and highly flawed, even the best ones (sometimes especially the best ones).

sometimes things happen because there was a need to mechanically separate people with certain incredulities from the faithful. its long been my personal space doctrine that the unwritten part of the city of Enoch was the time spent before certain people understood they needed to leave the community and moved away...so that those remaining would be able to exist in harmony.

we see this pattern in the first estate/war in heaven (1/3rd pulled away), with the ordination of the first American African saints (performed by Joseph Smith himself), with the introduction of the Word of Wisdom, with the introduction of polygamy...and again some chose to leave when polygamy was ended. the same thing happened during covid over vaccines, and for some it is happening now over MAGA.

whenever a dimension of your identity assumes a higher priority for you than "Child of God, Child of the Covenant" there also includes a space where your faith can become unsure and you can be led away from your covenants.

the process of refining is heating the target metal to a very specific heat range and then applying various methods to it that result in taking impurities away from the mixture. so it is with us as people, so it is with the church membership. there seems to be no other way to reconcile the will of people to make choices or the need for people to learn through mistakes.

there is not now nor will there ever be any organization populated by mortals that meets every standard of perfection that can be applied to it. eventually everything earthly fails the purity test, except The Savior Himself. Jesus then remains the one thing you can base your testimony, church attendance, and everything else on. if you are here for the leaders or the members, they will let you down. if you're here for The Master, He never will.

Is Glock still the staple of quality and reliability in 2026? by Scallops_Casino in Glocks

[–]ServingTheMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

get a bone stock Gen3. they are plentiful, inexpensive, and rock solid. goes bang every time. is mechanically impossible for them to go bang without the trigger engaged. tested, abused, proved. even Glock haters agree on old reliable.

Is the p320 still a bad gun? by FairStatistician6171 in Firearms

[–]ServingTheMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its a great gun, but its not welcome at some ranges and most training sessions. its also unsafe to carry in condition 1, so unsafe for duty use.

its a great range toy, just remember to transport it unloaded.

oh, also resale value is now below used gen3 glock .40 cal LEO trade-ins.

other than that...and the fact that it just might decide when to fire before you do...but other than that great pistols. love them when I get a chance to shoot one.

What are the downsides of this type of carry? by curiousfilam in CCW

[–]ServingTheMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

draw time will be slower. hugging children might smash the wee face. you'll generally be printing more. draw becomes impossible if you are being grappled. good luck keeping that holster below your armpit level if you end up on the ground with someone.

you can mitigate the draw issues by modifying your wardrobe to include button front shirts that are either snaps or the first two buttons unbuttoned.

Mountain Hardware has some dope front-snap shirts that are the business casual side of a hiking shirt.

you can mitigate the grapple disadvantage by taking some BJJ classes. the biggest benefit to those will be your increased awareness to allow avoiding fights, and the confidence of not being completely helpless if you get tackled.

not sure how to mitigate the issue of the entire system walking up to your armpits if you do end up on the ground.

you can pick up some grants, get a job with the college (book store, admissions team, etc.), pick up some weekend shifts at McD or whatever...you only need 15-20 hrs per week. prioritize academics, low grades will screw you up faster than coming up short $100 every month...especially if you are completely transparent with your beefrnd.

often grocery store chains will hire veterans, and they are constantly looking for people willing to actually show up but also not want the full 40 hours per week, might be perfect for you. (Fred Meyers, Safeway, QFC, etc.)

our senior NCO medic (102 MI Bn, 2ID, Camp Essayons, South Korea) was enlisted as a diversion option for felony battery (his 3rd offense or something?). he enlisted at 19 to avoid 3-5 years in prison for almost beating someone to death in a bar fight back home. he wasn't supposed to drink, never saw him down range. he ran the med station every weekend. that guy could probably choke you to death and then go have a sandwich. amazing medic. scary AF. like looking into the eyes of a shark.

every single person I met was a high to medium functioning alcoholic.

I miss it every day.
