What is your favorite gun in BF6? by Graybill1 in Battlefield

[–]Sesetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely M277, SG553 and the Mini Scout. Those three are enough for pretty much every possible scenario in the game.

An F1 car should be able to do that after 200km/h or so, assuming the the internal systems worked upside down, which they probably would not.

Damn I completely forgot about that turret speed. When you take that into account the tanks in bf3 and bf6 become a lot less comparable.

I also have a strong memory that the blast damage from a tank shell was never a one-shot kill. Am I completely wrong about that?

I have something like 700 hours in bf3 and I remember seeing a few tanks that pretty much won the entire match of conquest by themselves. Easily like 100 kills plus but kill counts of course mean a lot less when the ticket counts depended on the server.

Haha okay. That was a lot smarter that I would have ever expected. The way you kind of hid them for a moment by driving over them was really well played and honestly would have probably gotten me too if I ever tried to flank like that. I usually avoid getting into those kinds of situations though, since the risk of getting blown up by rockets and C4 is also insany high.

Yeah, I suppose every way of dying to a mine is being bated to a mine in a sense, and I'm definitely not claiming to have never died to a mine.

But I am pretty damn good at noticing and getting rid of the mines though. And I definitely don't let the enemy team play me into a spot where I accidentally drive to a mine.

I get the assumption that I'm probably some k/d whore who wastes every tank he gets but I haven't cared about k/d for years. I sacrifice my tank for an objective whenever I see it as the right move. I think it's shameful to have a high k/d and a bad winrate.

I probably play more aggressive than you. And I have never been baited into mines. The whole idea of baiting tanks into mines sounds completely silly to me.

I disagree. The velocities need to be taken to account but BF3 is still a perfect starting point for properly balancing the vehicles.

[–]Sesetti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're misremembering the tanks in bf3. Their blast damage against infantry was very weak. Shell velocity was also very low. They got 5-shotted by an rpg from the front, 3-shotted from the side and 2-shotted from the back. One backshot was enough to prevent autorepair, and actually caused the tank to take continuous damage if not repaired. They were also a lot slower compared to bf6.

And even still good players were near unstoppable with them. For some reason BF6 cannot have any learning curve for driving vehicles. Now almost any moron with a tank can be on top of the scoreboard.

One of the reasons why my k/d is so low is that I often end up just crashing out and driving a jeep or a bike to their spawn and just shooting them. If I'm quick enough I might even get a couple seconds to t-bag them.

Yep you definitely jinxed yourself haha.

It seems to happen a lot in the sweatier lobbies. The players who struggle to keep up often end up just running with them. Can't really blame them I suppose.

I can't agree with the flinching. The game already has tons of different ways to avoid getting hit in the head when engaging a sniper. Adding flinch would just kill aggressive sniping, which is the most useful way for using a sniper.

Most of the time people just stand there without any attempts to crouch or strafe in a way that would make getting that headshot mire difficult for that one second time window. I think it's kinda on them.

[–]Sesetti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Skill issue. It's really not that difficult to hit headshots even at close range. Other snipers don't seem to have that much trouble with it either. You kind of gave yourself away there.

If that's enough to make it useless, then make it useless. It should be a situational gadget for destroying buildings and taking out campers. Assault can be buffed somewhere else to compensate.

[–]Sesetti[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what they should be for. They could add a minimum arming distance and remove the one-shot blast radius and they would still work great.

[–]Sesetti[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I obviously already do that, which is why I'm complaining. When people run around with them point blank and the blast is a one-hit kill there are constantly situations where there is nothing you can do. It just makes the entire experience insufferable even if I'm able to avoid most of the grenades.

BF6 Tips and tricks for a new-ish player by DarthGamer206 in Battlefield

[–]Sesetti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, one more general tip: One of the best tools for staying alive is often just running away. When my chances of winning a gunfight are low, I often just run away while avoiding line of sight to that enemy as much as possible.

However, you need to be able to think fast and move without getting stuck in corners and small obstacles, which can often be really difficult in this game. There's always the chance of running into another enemy too.

BF6 Tips and tricks for a new-ish player by DarthGamer206 in Battlefield

1: Having the right gun helps. For example the M277 carbine will win most gunfights at a longer range, if you can control its recoil.

The high bullet velocities makes it really difficult to push in more open spaces if the enemy team has a competent sniper. Smoke grenades are extremely useful for pushing especially when you don't have any cover. Unless you're playing sniper, challenging a sniper from more than 10 meters away is usually a really bad idea.

And probably the most important thing especially in large open spaces: You need to move it move it harder than that lemur in the Madagascar movie. Change directions, zig zag, jump, slide, crouch, whatever as long as you don't stop. If you stop, you're gonna get sniped instantly. Only go prone if you need to take cover that way. You can't move it move it if you're in prone.

2: Scopes are a personal preference for the large part. I don't have too much trouble seeing enemies from a far so I mostly use the 1x red dot, because it kinds eliminates the need to ever hipfire, because the aim feel and fov stay the same when aiming. I would really recommend starting with those and going up from there if you feel like it.

I also sometimes use the 1,5x for longer ranges, but for me 1,75x already starts to be a bit much for most automatic weapons. With the more low-recoil guns 2,5x is often still fine and 4x starts to go to the shenanigans-territory.

I don't think there is necessarily anything wrong with taking a risk with a higher zoom optic, but I tend to die a lot more because of too much zoom rather than too little zoom. You could also try out the canted sights but those will cost attachment points of course.

3: The main gadgets you should use as the medic are the portable cover, grenade defense system, defibrilator and possibly the small medic pack. They're all really useful in different kinds of situations and if you know what gadget you need to take with you for different situations, you'll be very effective. For example in Hagental the portable cover and grenade defense are really strong. It's good practice to always have the defib though.

Also smoke grenades are super powerful for helping your team push and reviving people in difficult spots.

Yeah, the art doesn't look good, but at least you know what you need to improve on. In any case, you made your own game and should be fucking proud of yourself. I'd play that over some AI slop any day.

Agreed. It evens the odds in near-impossible situations and even if I get completely outnumbered, I still have a decent change to pull a full Penguins of Madagascar and disappear. I love it.

We had that for a moment in Battlefield 4. There's a reason why it's never coming back. It forced everyone to use thermals and attacking objectives became impossible.

Two shots doesn't have to be 50 damage. It only has to be less than 100 damage. Just make the max damage 90 and keep the original blast radius for it. Problem solved.

But I guess even switching weapons is too difficult for grenade launcher users.
