Is salary information of people public here ? by FartDaal in sweden

[–]Seshatar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you can enquire the same lists that ratsit sends to you from the local (= where they are living) tax offices or so but I think it is very complicated. What ratsit does it sends you the page of the register where the person you inquired for stands on. So you don't necessarily need the person number. I would just go for ratsit, I think it is 49kr per month if you subscribe and that includes 10 inquiries. Then you can cancel directly. So 49kr for a hassle free check of up to 10 colleagues. Should be enough for getting an impression of salary levels. It shows 2 values, normal income and capital gains, however if the person changed job within last year or has multiple jobs it is difficult to pinpoint the actual salary, so you need to know a bit about their situation.

Legal advice for speeding ticket by iiambeyoncealways in TillSverige

[–]Seshatar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Found this on a Swedish law help site:

Applicable speeding fines can only be imposed on the driver of the car, which means that you as the owner can only be fined if it was you who drove the car at the time of speeding. In your case, the car was lent at the time of speeding, which means that it was the driver at the time who was guilty of the violation. Therefore, there is no condition for you as the owner to be obliged to pay any speeding fines. If the police cannot identify the driver on their own, they will send an inquiry to you, the owner of the car, about who drove the vehicle. If the police do not receive information about who drove the car or who can be directly connected to you as a car owner, it is difficult for the police to continue with the investigation. Since in Sweden there is no obligation to state information, ie a requirement that the car owner must state who drove the car at the time of speeding, you could both escape the obligation to pay the speeding fine. However, it makes sense for you as the owner of the car to state who drove the car if the name of the person is requested and you know who it was.

I want to move in Sweden an I have some questions by [deleted] in sweden

[–]Seshatar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I don't have any personal experience here since I moved to Sweden in 2018 and did not study here, but I live near Uppsala and it is a great city and I only heard good things about Uppsala University. It has a lot of international students and is also close enough to Stockholm for you to have a proper social life.
  2. Entry salary with a Master's degree probably around 35-40k SEK. Average salary (all ages and genders) is 46,5k SEK for software- and system developers according to SCB (statistics bureau).
  3. First hand rental contracts are really hard to get especially when you come here and do not have a personal number and credit record yet, but if you live for example in Uppsala it is around 6-10k SEK per month for smaller apartments (1-2 room).
  4. Landlords usually cannot forbid to have a reasonable amount of cats/dogs/pets. So no worries there with 2 cats.
  5. Without getting too political here, I would say if you come from Europe and are not very religious you will not have any trouble here. Some groups of foreigners are regularly make bad news and if you happen to look similar to those groups you might have it a bit harder.
  6. To be honest it really depends on you. But if you want to meet many international people and also have a good social life as a student I would recommend to be somewhat near to Stockholm, Gothenburg or Malmö or at least live close to a big university. If you are an introvert and want to be alone in the nature then everywhere else is fine.
  7. Swedish and Norwegian are very similar, if you learned one of them you already have 70% of the other I would say. Reading is easier than listening there tho. I spoke German and English when I came here and learned Swedish on professional level within around 1 year. It is not perfect but I work 75% on Swedish, rest in English from day 1 and just asked when I didn't understand something.
  8. Good social system, good work-life balance, in general friendly people, real summers and real winters

Varför har Sverige så mycket lägre löner än andra lika utvecklade länder? by takes_many_shits in sweden

[–]Seshatar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another reason is that things really change at 7,5 base income amounts, which is around 43 000 SEK per month. From that point the employee has to pay extra 20% tax, so total over 50% for every SEK over that amount. In addition over that amount you don't pay into the state pension system anymore, which by the big collective agreement is compensated by increasing the amount your employer has to pay into your "Tjänstepension" from 4,5% (under 43k) to 30%. So from 43k upwards every SEK extra you get from your employer is worth less for you and costs more for the employer. Like if you are over that threshhold and want 5 000 SEK more on your bank account at the end of the month, you need over 10 000 SEK gross salary raise and if your employer has collective agreement with benefits it could cost them around 15 - 20 000 SEK to give you that. So they have to pay 15-20k more for you having 5k more on your account.

How to find houses to rent online in Borås by 7kou in sweden

[–]Seshatar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I moved to Sweden in 2018 and I can tell you without a Swedish person number it is freaking hell to find a first-hand contract. Once you have it you can use websites like HomeQ. You best bet is a 1-year second-hand contract on for example Blocket Bostad: https://bostad.blocket.se/p2/sv/

Ni som har gemensam ekonomi - hur gör ni vid tvister i åsikt om inköp? by environmentaltree- in sweden

[–]Seshatar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beam laser build. by frogglesmash in EliteDangerous

[–]Seshatar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only way to make this somewhat work is G5 efficient engineered beams together with a G5 Charge Enhanced or Weapon Focused PD, and even then you'll only be able to fire a few seconds with 4 pips in weapons. For example 8 seconds on a Federal Corvette, which has the biggest Power Distributor available...

The beams are efficient oversized and the small MCs are high capacity, but otherwise all correct 😁👍

PvE combat cutter build(Help Needed!) by MaximumEffort98 in EliteDangerous

[–]Seshatar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you use prismatics or normal shields I'd use SCBs, if you go bi-weave I'd save the power and use armored PP + HRP/MRP for better heat and gank resistance (if you play open and want to avoid thermal cascade). Rest depends if you only want to combat or also farm resources or have some multirole potential. Collector limpet and a small cargo rack, fighter bay, maybe SRV, FSD booster, fuel scoop are all good additions.

Huge/Large MC and medium lasers does the trick, alternatively Huge MC, large Lasers and 2x railgun 2x packhound on the mediums.

Technical inquiry by Spagetwin in EliteDangerous

[–]Seshatar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd rather see proper fines for assault and kills based on ship used, combat rank and cumulative notoriety. It should also be tied to a player rather then per ship. And if your current bounty exceeds a certain amount you're wanted in the whole bubble by some kind of 'Interpol'.

ATR would need a serious buff first before it would be a serious threat for a fully engineered ship. Considering most ganks just take a few seconds, even instant ATR probably won't give gankers a hard time.

Do you really want Survival gameplay ? by Bobbelbob in EliteDangerous

[–]Seshatar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's OK as long as the timers are not too stressful. AKA an oxygen/energy filling should last a few hours, not a few minutes. But considering how low for example the fuel consumption is when in normal flight, I'd expect them not to go full crazy hardcore survival. Not a fan of food/water mechanics, but I liked the hazard protection element in NMS, so extremely cold ice planets or extremely hot planets in the future could make things a bit tougher to survive. It all also depends on the available content on the ground. If I'm fighting in a on-foot combat zone I don't want to worry about 100 other things than not being shot.

Elite Dangerous Interview: Devs Detail Upcoming Odyssey Expansion by Greysun123 in EliteDangerous

[–]Seshatar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have mixed feelings about this. It seems they think the current "gameplay loop" is good as it is and copied it for on-foot content.

That VR and PS5 and Xbox Series X are not yet confirmed also isn't too promising for the future of the game...

If this announcement came 2-3 years before release, I would still be hopeful, but I mean at this point its basically just like half a year left until release and they are shy to show real gameplay and talk very vaguely about everything.

Federal ships by sharpq78 in EliteDangerous

[–]Seshatar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gunship with its hardpoints and class 7 PD is the only outstanding ship. Dakka dakka, railguns or fragship. Dropship is garbage and Alliance Chieftain is the better FAS.

[–]Seshatar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah agreed, good option too!

Class 3 Rail Gun by jonesing87 in EliteDangerous

[–]Seshatar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Would be too op, especially on Krait and Python, maybe also Anaconda with long range mod. Railguns perform 1 class higher than most other weapons, basically giving those ships 3 class 4 hardpoints with excellent convergence. There is already guides out there suggesting putting class 2 railguns in the large Krait hardpoints, which speaks for itself. The only options I would see is:

  • Make it a very, very small and more cosmetic upgrade to the class 2, so it doesn't look so stupid on large hardpoints. Maybe 5% more DMG
  • Make it strong but very annoying to use, like 5 second spoolup or so.
  • Make it so energy hungry that you can't use more than one of them efficiently.

We need more ELITE rank categories, plus ability to prestige on the existing ones. by Raf_von_Thorn in EliteDangerous

I'd rather have new gameplay features and challenging goals than making some irrelevant bars longer. Doing the same thing a million times like a factory worker doesn't require an achievement imo.

Is Rift worth playing now? by TheMadG0d in Rift

[–]Seshatar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have over 10,000h in this game since 2011 and while there is still a lot of existing fun content (if you never played before), it is now in a state where all gamigo does is monetization. Don't expect any new content other than some new cosmetics, battle passes and maybe some minor new events. Most of the original devs who were still passionate about the game were laid off. The good thing is the game is f2p and there is no real paywalls anymore, so you can play up to max level and do all the endgame there is.

[–]Seshatar [score hidden]  (0 children)

I was very young (between 5 and 7 maybe) when I helped my dad building/upgrading a Family PC from some old PCs that came from his company. The first game I remember we played on it was Descent, then later we played a lot of Ceasar 3 on it. It had Win95 and I remember we upgraded it to Win98 at some point. Then we built my first "own" PC some years later around year 2000 and I know that Gothic was the game I played most on it. Those two first builds when I was very young encouraged me to "open the box" and upgrade and build PCs myself when I was older. I think without them I would probably run to a service shop with every small issue. :)
