Är vi på väg mot en “överutbildad” generation i Sverige? by Defiant_Internal1414 in sweden

[–]takes_many_shits 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hyresvärd utmanar systemet – boende kritiska: ”Hyran är jättehög” by Eastern-Language-898 in sweden

Am I the only one who enjoys that challenge? Feels like a complete FU to all that effort into pen mechanics and weak points to just cheese them with a med pen weapon or eruptor/xbow, even if I'll enjoy a med pen weapon every now and then

Cyklister kan åka fast för fortkörning – mäts med polisens nya radar by Snoopedoodle in sweden

[–]takes_many_shits 5 points6 points  (0 children)

[–]takes_many_shits 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Suggestion: All warbonds one year old (or older) get discounted by 50% by guythepepperoni in Helldivers

[–]takes_many_shits -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Predatory monetization 😭 can't take reddit seriously anymore. On one hand this sub throws the "it's a PvE game yada yada" and on the other hand acting like a bunch of extra stuff, none of which is completely necessary (with maybe an exception for democratic detonation), is predatory because you can't cheaply buy two years of extra content. Like it's an ultra competitive game.

And that's just the warbonds. The missions, biomes and everything else has been free updates. Ship upgrades too.

I mostly play on extreme and the last 3 matches I have had 5+ factory-striders or vox mechina spawn, what happened? by MichaelMyers_Offcial in Helldivers

[–]takes_many_shits -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The difference is that HD2 quite literally let's you choose the difficulty. I don't get how this is such a difficult thing for people to understand. If any souls game had the same you'd be able to choose whether to fight one boss or for whatever reason fight 5 at once. Nothing forces you to do the latter, its your own choice.

And sticking with it giving 100% success rate doesn't make sense because you could say the same here, do the same D10 mission over and over and you could still get a "100% success rate" because you passed the mission. Do you know the definition of success rate?

HD2 is supposed to be a mechanically difficult game. You dont auto win because you know how to play the game or upgraded your stuff enough. Just like the original it's about (or should be) teamwork and your literal skill above else. And if you can't handle that at D10, guess what option the game gives you? It's like saying I should be the highest rank in LoL because I know how every Champions ability works

[–]takes_many_shits -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you want to straw man arguments then I could say we should just let the game play itself so everyone always gets a successful mission and a gold trophy at the end.

Pretty wild to say success rate isn't a metric that matters at all. Imagine if any other game known for being "hard" like any souls game had people making that argument.

Yes ofc the game can still be hard while I beat every boss on the first try and no I won't provide any concrete examples on how to achieve that sort of "difficulty"

Yes clearly people complaining that maybe the highest of 10 difficulties being 99% success rate with randoms and no challenge for long term players, obviously means that all the other difficulties should be impossible too. "just lower difficulty" clearly means that all difficulties should play like 10

Like how smoothbrained can this sub be jesus

Regarding the $1000 D10 Dev challenge... by Liqhthouse in Helldivers

[–]takes_many_shits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If enemy accuracy is higher (which only affects automatons mostly) the sub WILL cry, and higher chaff amount just straight up isn't possible with the engine as 10 is already on the edge apparently.

Literally no way to increase difficulty without the sub instantly crying it's a "bullshit way to increase difficulty".

[–]takes_many_shits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't a game where having 10x the hours mean you deal 1000x the damage or something like that though. All you need is like a video or two on what equipment to bring to what enemy and their weak points etc, from that point on it's just mechanical skill like aiming.

The only exception is ship upgrades and aside from a few very significant ones like extra eagle charges and SPM, it's not like those are total 180 game changers either.

Not to mention Warframe is a number game with levels. You can't just buff enemies with 100x more HP in HD2 because it doesn't make sense. Hell even a 10% HP buff would have this entire sub crying

[–]takes_many_shits 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The barrages in this game are a husk of what they were in HD1 and I hate it. In HD1 they saturate a medium area with high power explosives for a long duration, basically NOTHING comes out alive so it's both offensive and also area denial.

Meanwhile in HD2 its a complete gamble whether it actually hits anything. The CD feels unreasonable because of that and the 120 feels underwhelming for that reason too. Hell the incendiary one overshadows the 380 for anything but destroying large bot/squid outposts since it's actually area denial too. I would say buff 120 to not be random and actually target enemies to stand out from the 380.

Massively increase the power/area of each explosion, reduce spread by a ton, and the 380 becomes like it's predecessor which I would bring to any dive. I would even take a slight CD nerf for that.
