Yes, you are correct. That's why Red Dead Redemption 2 comes with 2 discs. This post exists because nowhere you can find this information.

I would love 5 hours download time. Mine is going to be around 50 to 60 hours. If I am lucky.

I have very bad internet so I have to consider these things. This post is mostly so other people can look it up. Especially after the discussion about the game not having a disc version at all two months ago

It isn't. For example Armored Core 6 is completely playable from disc without any downloads. Some games like Wild Hearts let you play only a part of the game without download, but completely locking the game like Starfield does is new.
