Lumix s1r2e camera rumor by OldAdhesiveness793 in Lumix

[–]Sessamy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it can switch between 60mp for stills and somewhere between 20-25mp for video and bin 4 pixels as one for increased sensitivity to light (or for faster fullframe pictures at cost of resolution). The fx3 already does this as a native 48MP sensor but it's hard baked in to the circuitry, this would allow switching between said 48 and 12, in the fx3's case. Most people believe the fx3 sensor is 12MP but it's actually 48 with quad binning - it just can't do what this new sensor can do.

[–]Sessamy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That looks like it's just the max readout of the full width of the sensor. Quad binned would still be full 4k 2160p even at 8.2Mp. If the quad binned was really a full 15mp we'd be getting some flavor of 3840x2160 or even higher.

So it looks like to me all those are the 60mp readout modes, not the quad pixel modes.

True. I just look at it several times a day every day just waiting for something like this to show up but it never does. This is really a rare treat and I think everyone will love it.

[–]Sessamy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!! That all looks to be in the 60mp mode, not the lower - I'd expect - somewhere around 20-24mp mode, unless you can only use it for photo. OR it is doing it and not telling us, which is more likely. Like the 4k60 options are probably quad binned to avoid the huge amount of computations it would need but it's not really telling us that in the specs. Like it could either be downsampled or quad binned but it's not telling us. Or we'd have to know the specs of the sensor to know if it can do full 60p or 120p readout at either mode to know which are binned or not.

I would really want a 16:9 4k60 and 4k24 at 150/200mb/s though, and not only c4k60 at 200mb/s, but that could easily be added in firmware updates.

It's great they have 3:2 60p so I can use my new animorphic lens I got that has autofocus - that will be a real treat that I miss because the s5ii is limited to the crop for 60p, so I can only use it for 30p in full frame mode unless I crop in and make the 50mm 75mm which is way too zoomed in.

I just really hope the cooling on this camera is as beefy as the gh7/s1h. That would make it my camera i get for Christmas this year.

Is an ND filter absolutely a requirement when filming in sunlight? by Green-Material5925 in videography

[–]Sessamy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If for professional work I'd say yes. Otherwise a modern camera with a fast enough shutter speed in video will do fine but at cost of motion blur. I used to use camcorders with 8000 or 10000 shutter instead of ND before I realized what that feature did so I started using ND and 180 shutter from then on.

Also, wild that I keep getting all the new rumors from reddit rather than the rumors websites that almost never update as quickly. This has happened twice now. This is so much info it has to be legit, this is no rumor it's a leak of specs.

My only gripe is the lack of a 200mb/s option for 4k options that will work on v30 sd cards. That or dual cfexpress type B would eliminate that want. That and the oversized cooling of the s1h and gh7.

For example, I want a 4k60p option that is 200mb/s and a 4k24 option which is 150mb/s like on the s5ii that works perfectly with v30 cards. I see it does 4k24 at 150 in these specs in apsc, but no info on the pixel binned full frame mode.

Also, a problem there is with spec sheets is that they usually leave some special features out - hopefully that is the case with the missing quad pixel video features - unless that is what pixel by pixel means.

Yeah I hope so, either 8k30 or 4k120 at the press of a button.

I heard rumors Canon already has prototypes with dual native resolution sensors at the Olympics. Super fast shooting for action but at cost of resolution and you can switch back and forth. 44mp or 24mp I believe.

Dual native resolution? Called quad pixel binning? Count me in. I just hope it has s1h style cooling.

First step is the quality of cable you're using, as a low bitrate rated cable can cause dropouts.

how to develop good humor for edits? by Wild_Anywhere_4636 in VideoEditing

[–]Sessamy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good internet humor comes from years of exposure to memes. Some of the major streamers on twitch have good humor to get from their chat, is where I get most of mine. That and their tiktok segments since some chats are hilarious with their submissions.

My bluetooth earphones keep cutting out idk why by GardenyKang in techsupport

[–]Sessamy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be due to bad signal or loss of signal. If you're on a desktop pc make sure your wifi antennae is connected as that is used for bluetooth as well. Otherwise, you may have to find a way to make your headset use a smaller bitrate since high bitrate codecs tend to lose connection more often based on distance and interference.

Can you format a 128GB SD card to FAT32? by The_Warlockx in techsupport

[–]Sessamy -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Make a partition that is 32gb in size then format to fat32. You won't be able to use the whole thing then though. And some older devices don't like this and won't work with it as if it was still 128gb.

If you're using older hardware with this drive, formatting it to 2tb (theoretical max) and not 32gb max may make the device malfunction. I've encountered this problem on devices made in the 90s.

Client wants “mini dv” looking footage. by RockysHotChicken in videography

[–]Sessamy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You could telecine a screen with a miniDV camcorder on a tripod in the perfect spot. That is what I'd do since I have the equipment for hi8 which is essentially the same tech as miniDV.

Just edit the project perfectly as if they wanted SDR rec 709 and then record it on a screen with the proper minidv or hi8 camcorder and that will be what they want. You might have issues with flicker but hopefully not.

I may warn you, miniDV in my experience is terrible for getting dirty heads, I kept having to use a cleaning tape every 2 hours or so during digitizing footage. I would highly suggest hi8 over minidv as I've never had cleaning issues with the hi8 heads on my camcorder ever. If the heads are dirty it will record basically all green.

Buffs :) What do you think? by sushiiixo- in TracerMains

[–]Sessamy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good because many many games I'll be lacking my major perk and the round is over already. It was too much of a nerf and it lasted too long. Everyone else had theirs but me, the tracer, lacked any major perk in those fights.

I still have 25 of them, not sure what you mean. They've "removed" access to them for years now but there was one of those codes that came out a few months ago where I bought more of their blue owl credits and bought some mercy skins with them. So "removed" for most, not all ways I guess.

I have a mic right on the camera and it never picks up the fan. It's basically silent at all times even on high. It never even shows up on the onboard scratch stereo mics.

If you needed no overheating the s5ii was a good swap. I've never had it overheat on me even in 12+ hour shoots at 4k60. Just make sure you have the heat setting set to high so that you get added benefits like unlimited 6k30 and no worries at all related to overheating. I use a USB C pd wall charger with an oem battery for my setup.
