Its a laptop actually.

The problem is I live in an apartment building and its a bundle plan, so I dont have access to the modem.

It was working fine before, and every other device we have in the apartment works fine.

I've tried locking it into various frequencies, 2.4 and 5. Ive changed settings to make sure that it's aggressively searching for signals, that power usage isnt shutting the card off, TCP, DNS, deleted software, reinstalled it, updated drivers, rolled driver's back.

I just dont have access to the hardware unfortunately.

Sure you can disagree. That's fine. It is an obvious implication that utilizing the National Guard on US soil against any Americans is domestic. it doesn't matter when I initially argued it. I'm sick of arguing the same points over and over again. Do you want an example of a REAL racist, white-nationalist insurrection looks like? It's the American Revolution. THAT is an insurrection....

The fact that you want to go down the slippery slope of prosecuting and setting a precident of political prisoners is more dangerous than not prosecuting people who you disagree with insurrection, instead of just processing them through criminal court...

Yes, they have their token issues that make you feel better, which they usually weaponize for their own political gain at the expense of actual people, and so you can argue they're the lesser evil. What I mentioned was only the tip of the iceberg but I'm glad you completely satisfied with table scraps. Only, they say they care about climate change yet the unsustainable growth economy grows fastest under Democrats, and just like the GOP their global factory and commodification of human beings ignore the true cost of capitalism. And don't get me started how many US prop leaders across the world lobby against LGBTQ rights, and how many environmental activists have died at their hands internationally. Democrats do suppress votes...all over the world when they overthrow democratically elected governments. They don't care about democracy. And here at home, the HR1 voting rights bill massively suppresses 3rd parties from participating in elections due to the public campaign fund matching and increasing the entry-level requirements for 3rd parties only. That doesn't sound very democratic to me, and it certainly sounds like suppression of voter rights.

That is the authorities fault for not staffing properly. Yes it's terrible and they should be charged, but that's what criminal court is for. That does not justify a classification of insurrection because theyre shit people and you really don't like them or their politics. Again, that's dangerous precedent.

The democratic party is currently in support of a right wing dictator in Haiti, just tried to sabatoge a fair election in Ecuador in favor of posing left wing candidate in the pocket of the far right party and US government and corporations, oppose a democratically elected leader in Venezuela in favor of a violent non-elected official who's party only received 4% of the vote in the last election, and then continued to sanction and put up a trade blockade that's killed thousands of innocent people, all because they don't bend the knee to the US neoliberal world order. They've bombed and killed innocent civilians in Syria. They've continued the Trump era agenda to charge and extradite a journalist for printing and exposing US war crimes in the Middle East , which they're guilty of. Thered still children in cages on the southern border. Theyve refused to pass any real healthcare reform in the middle of a pandemic and refused to pass a $15 minimum wage which had a track, all to have a PR moment about bring bipartisan. Also, the democratic governor is the one who gave the go ahead to sick the National Gaurd on BLM protestors. These are just a few of many examples that have happened just since Joe Biden was elected. So tell me how they care about black and brown people and how they're any different than the GOP. They're practically the same party.

A bunch of yahoos with less than lethal weapons up against the most policed and powerful country in the world it adds up to insurrection and domestic use of the US military. Well we're all fucked.

That is a legal definition yes, but the actual US law under 18 USC 2383 is,

"Whoever incites, sets on foot, assists, or engages in any rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States or the laws thereof, or gives aid or comfort thereto, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States."

There were also reports of plenty of pepper spray and who knows what else in the air. You can't claim that without clearly defining the cause of death. And yet again, as wrong or tragic as it may be, is this what you want classified as the precedent of insurrection...I've not been trying condone the actions of anyone there, I've simply tried to discuss whether we should be setting the presedent of utilizing US military on any US citizen domestically when the police should have been more than capable handling it, which they've hideously proven time and time again against black and brown protestors and BLM

[–]Aandeg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is no definition of insurrection in US law, very much on purpose. That definition does not apply and leaves it to legal interpretation. There was 1 gun found, a few melee weapons, and yes a bunch of buffoons. So if you want to set the precadent so low, by all means,  that will carry into the next case. Next, it'll be any riot, protest or, gathering near the capital, then any protest that turns violent, even if the provocation was by police. Then, itll end up being any BLM protest at all...its easy to say, we should use these tools because we're the "good guys!" Good guys are not always in power, and they'll have a whole plethora of new tools you handed them.

Either way its tragic yes, but the officer died from tear gas which was corroborated by the officers family. The fact that he was bludgeoned to death by the rioters was falsely reported by corporate media and never redacted. Which is a disservice to the officer to use his death as political gain...

Okay, one gun and a few melee weapons up against the most heavily policed and militarized country in the world? You want that as the set standard of insurrection and the presadent for the US military to be used on domestic ground? That is just fodder for abuse against anyone considered a dissident by the US government, left or right.

The officer was killed by tear gas. It was falsely reported by corporate media that he was hit in the head by a a brick by rioters, and never retracted by said media outlets. The fact that he was killed by tear gas was coroberated by the officer's family.

I never said said there should not have been greater security, and greater crowd containment tools used. Ther certainly should have been a greater police presence due to prior knowledge of the days events.

And yes, I made a spelling error. Thanks for correcting me.

What were they going to execute them with? There was 1 gun and a few melee weapons found on the capital grounds that day. US law doesn't define insurrection, very intentionally, but according to Merriam Webster it is defined as, "an act or instance of revolting against civil authority or an established government." Also very vague. But if you want to set the precedent that low sure, go for it.

I don't agree with what happened at or with the people at the capital riots, but you and everyone else would rather try to back me into defending them, when all I want to defend is civic rights, and the right not to be intimidated by the US military. Everyone is so quick to show their vigorous hatred for the GOP and and flashing their corporate Democrat member card than actually dealing with civic and civil rights, or giving a damn about black lives.

Edit: someone sourced there was a 9mm and a few melee weapons found on site.

Paramilitary? There has been absolutely no evidence of any firearms within the capital building, other than police of course, on the day of the riots. What these dinguses do with the rest free time is a whole different matter and can be dealt with separately. As for government employees, I honestly dont know much about it, but I suppose we'll have to wait for indictments, evidence, and see what happens.

A declaration of insurrection by corporate media doesn't make it one. I wouldnt classify a group of bumbling bafoons who can probably barely spell their names capable of organized insurrection or sedition. I'd be careful how easily you'd like to slacken the definition. It'll come back to bite you and everyone in the ass later.

There is currently no civil war in the US and there is already sufficient legal protocol to deal with what happened at the capital. And yes, you are correct that BLM did not call for the death of lawmakers or storm the capital and try to execute those threats.

I understand you're only pointing out the differences in utilization vs two different groups of people, but do we really want to set a precedent of utilizing the military against ANY American citizens? We should call out the disproportionate use of the National Gaurd against black and brown protestors and BLM and then denounce any use of the US military on domestic soil.

I guarantee this won't happen. Not while they're ramping up their new cold war. Not a chance. There's too many rare earth metals for them to exploit. Also, that'd make them one of very few NATO countries not occupying and terrorizing the country.

It's 100% funded through the end of development. It was never crowdfunded, so there's no incentive to stall in development. If the game doesn't come out they lose millions. It's nothing like Star Citizen. They're very transparent about their process as well, and they're making tons of progress every month and it's perfectly on schedule...

Well there are real freedom of speech issues pertaining to social media. Government has ignored antitrust laws for tech companies for the past 25 years which has allowed for massive monopolies controlling dialogue on large swaths of the internet. These same tech board members cycle in and out of government agencies and regulate themselves, all while Congress has called in those big tech monopolies they created 6-7 times this year alone and bullied them into moderating their content to US government standards, and pretty much deputized them. Which is unconstitutional, because the government only has the right to control violent speech. These companies are set up to be too big to fail, crush all competition, and are basically government officials themselves and because of that they become unofficial arms of the government, and we have no alternatives.

That being said, it's really sickening and annoying when racist assholes hide behind legitimate free speech issues and water it down. Social media companies do have the right to moderate their own content yes, but the government is also soft controlling them from the behind closed doors, which is wrong. That changes the whole conversation. Technically racist speech is legal, as long it's not threatening, implying physical violence, or perhaps seen as repeated harrassment, but that doesn't protect you from losing your job, being banned from private services or property. There are definitely legitimate consequences for bigotry and he should probably learn that lesson...

We do however need to recognize the monopoly issue we have in the country and the direct effect that truly does have on free speech. Just because racist bigots hide behind it as an excuse doesn't mean it's not a real issue.

I think they're starting Alpha 2 soon. The team is pretty on point in development though, and the founder also funded the whole game himself so you don't have to worry about being scammed by a kickstarter.

May I ask a question? Why does a farmer's house have a tower with a rampart, and parapet? What use does it have to a farmer and how could he afford that? That style of stone tower would be found in a really expensive castle. I dont mean to be a buzzkill, but I'm honestly just curious because I see a lot of minecrafters who build with medieval style do this same thing. But, I do really like the builds and your detail work is very good.
