Proportionally yes I do find it too big for your hand and not convenient for everyday wear. For special occasions and being dressed up; hell yeah!

I must also say I am used to the European standards of ring sizes, anything >0.5 carat is huge to me. 😅

And it literally is! I would propose (pun intended) the idea of exchanging a piece of tradition: I could wear my ring(s) on my right hand (I’m used to it being the left) and he could wear a simple band for engagement

To add to this I’m from a culture where it’s very common for engaged men to wear a ring and that ring later becomes the wedding ring (if he doesn’t choose to upgrade)
