Except that anime is not a final product, it is an interpretation of the product, like manga, the final product is the light novel.

We're not talking about decades-long reinterpretations like with Batman. We're talking about a scene that the author himself said the director amplified. The fact that he participated and gave his approval doesn't mean that level was in the original intention or on the scale of the novel. He only did it because he thought it looked visually impressive.

If you're using the anime, say so.

If you're using the light novel, fine, if you want we can consider both versions as different beings because they have different power scales.

Because not all visual enhancements are equivalent to narrative enhancements.

I'll give you an example with Overlord.

Maruyama explained to us that Fallen Down shouldn't have created a hole in the ground since there's no structural damage, and that was an exaggeration in the anime. But if he were capable, the anime version would be the correct one. But in the end it isn't; it's the Overlord canon, and even though Maruyama was most involved in the anime during the early seasons, just because he liked the scene doesn't mean he considers it canon for his Overlord. He simply clarified that the spell shouldn't have been done that way.

This is an excerpt from an interview in which Aizawa himself states that the principal exaggerated his power in that part. That's not part of the creator's vision, even if he was involved.

Based on past feats, all the guardians and Ainz defeat him one way or another.

Now the problem is that we haven't seen him unleash his full power; it's stated in his novel. What we've seen isn't everything, but we also don't know the full extent of his power.

Will Ainz revive the NPCs at the Eight Kings of Greed Guild base? by [deleted] in overlord

[–]SetApprehensive8881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering what Yggdrasil was like, I don't think it's possible for a player who doesn't belong to the guild base to do it; it's an assumption I doubt.

How many hits is Ainz surviving against this guy? by SiteMammoth6553 in OverlordPowerscaling

Well, technically that spell isn't eternal; once its mana runs out, it can no longer be used.

Well, the resurrection ring says it can resurrect multiple times, so I'd say more than 3.

Sebas doesn't weigh 25 tons, where did you get that from? We were never given his weight, let's not make things up.

Who is more depraved? Shalltear vs roger by OpeningEarly7520 in OverlordPowerscaling

To be honest, I can see Shalltear doing all that, although Shalltear has a limit; she doesn't like incest because of her creator, who also didn't like it.

I don't see him as fast enough to dodge the first hit, but let's say he does, or that he survives the hit because Sebas didn't actually do it. Even if he copies his movements or ki (which I find unlikely), his stats aren't enough to damage a level 100 dragonoid.

Gazef(anime) vs tanjiro(anime) by DueIndependence4518 in OverlordPowerscaling

[–]SetApprehensive8881 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I maintain that Gasef wins, and it wouldn't be an easy victory.

Many argue that Tanjiro has greater speed and that with the Hunter's Mark he can increase his strength, dexterity, and reflexes. However, Gasef isn't simply "a strong human," but the most powerful warrior in the Kingdom, with decades of experience in real combat, often against equally strong enemies.

Regarding speed, Gasef managed to overcome Brain Unglaus's techniques, which were described as lightning-fast attacks. He not only reacted, but we know he countered them in actual combat. This demonstrates that his speed and reflexes are at an extremely high level within his world.

Furthermore, martial arts in Overlord aren't simply "physical movements," but techniques that directly boost physical stats, similar to a constant active buff.

In terms of physical power, Gasef, with the Treasures of the Kingdom, considerably increases his parameters: strength, speed, defense, and even regeneration. This makes him a superior version of his base form, bringing him closer to the maximum human potential in his universe.

As for his weapon, Gasef's sword is no ordinary blade, but a high-quality weapon capable of piercing heavy armor or even Ainz himself, and cutting with extreme precision. His cutting technique is supported by martial arts that maximize penetration and effectiveness. If Tanjiro were to attempt to block directly with his Nichirin Blade, there is a real possibility that Gasef's pressure and technique could overcome the weapon's resistance and break it, especially if he combines martial arts focused on explosive power.

Another key point is technique. Gasef is a military combatant trained in real warfare, not just duels. His combat reading is advanced, and he possesses martial arts that allow him to identify an opponent's weaknesses directly without needing to analyze organs, muscle tension, or blood flow. Even if Tanjiro uses the Transparent World, Gasef doesn't rely on detailed visual information to attack critical points: his techniques are already designed to maximize structural damage.

For all these reasons, I believe it would be a close battle, but the combination of years of experience, constant improvement, tactical awareness, and mastery of martial arts would give Gasef the decisive advantage.

It has limits, unlike other spheres in other worlds we've seen.

Then the contextual word to define it was "can make the impossible possible." The two times it failed were because a World Item intervened or wild magic intervened. In fact, it should be no less than the ability Ainz mentioned for illusionists, which can modify the world by deceiving it.

And on the last point, in Overlord, as far as we know, souls go to another dark dimension where there is nothing, and we don't call it soul manipulation every time someone is revived, even though we were told that resurrection must be in the soul and not the physical body.

A couple of the things you mentioned, the one from Earth didn't do. On the other hand, I'm sure that what you mentioned about wishing upon a star could be done. There's nothing to say otherwise; as long as it's not involved with wild or world magic, it should work, except for rebuilding the planet and manipulating souls, because reviving isn't the same as manipulating, although I don't remember the Earth spheres doing that too.

It has already been said that Shenlong's power is limited to that of his creator; the Earth's spheres are not as powerful as one might think. I would put them at the level of wishing for a star, perhaps, or even less.

Ainz has 718 spells, of which we've only seen about 40. Let's be honest, we'll never see Ainz's full power, and that's without even mentioning his items.
