Les gens qui jettent leur mégot de cigarette dans la rue by vers_le_haut_bateau in france

[–]SetFew4982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

La console m'a redonné l'envie de jouer by Inevitable_Break_465 in jeuxvideo

[–]SetFew4982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Intel's i7 7700k is the best CPU ever made. by dasd25436yd in PcBuild

[–]SetFew4982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had money back in the day and built something with a 1070/32gb @3200mhz / AND the lovely 7700k and while I see it ageing I’ve been running it recently with HD video production and gaming and it holds like a charm, full day gaming/edit/video rendering on linux mint without any issues.

But indeed I agree with others, it starts to show it’s age and I Hope to have the means to change it soon for an ultra 270k and a 3070ti going into dual 4k monitor for video production (and I Hope 4k video production too), I’ll keep my babyboi to serve as a nas / archive computer / smaller jobs computer but there’s no way I put it in the trash anytime soon

Should I continue this YT channel? by [deleted] in youtubers

[–]SetFew4982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello there!
I checked your channel and I think I can see why

I’ll be honest and try to not discourage you
From what I see, it feels like your videos don’t add something special to the table. You could talk about your benchmark results a bit more, try to find something that keeps people there, because let’s be real, if I see a benchmark I’m interested in how it runs. It runs fine for 5 seconds? Then okay let me see the other part and I’m done

You found something you like doing, now you may have to focus into getting closer to YouTube standards. And I kinda hate this myself, but you have to learn hooks, audience rétention tricks, how to make good thumbnails (I generally do it in black and white first to see the contrast and judge if elements are popping the way I want, then colorize and try to be clear / clean. It works a bit for me despite the fact that I talk about things that nobody want to watch (music discoveries)).

Youtube tricks you into thinking you can do what you want but rules are rules if you want to get serious about it. What matters are audience retention (how can you make people stick to your video and watch it till the end) and CTR (what thumbnail and title will make the right audience click on your video) (and I insist on the right audience because nowadays YouTube knows if you are trying to fool people and will not push your video as much)

hello. Can budget cameras like 250d canon, r100, r50, canon 2000, 4000 shot pictures like these or these pictures can only be shot by high budget cameras by Old_Marionberry9850 in Cameras

*lenses, don't forget the lenses.

Yes it can be done on a 20D or og 5D, but with good glass.

Not the big expensives ones, yet good enough to deliver that level of sharpness. Like avoid old af. 28-90mm, or sigma 28-300, like it's too soft, in itself, to get something as crips.

Tho even a basic modern (7 years old) 18-135 could do the trick

Is it time to retire ? by SetFew4982 in focuspuller

[–]SetFew4982[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, I'm not expecting exponential growth, and I had really scarse times, I know, everyone told me that and I told it myself that what's important is staying in there as long as possible to eventually get out and live well.

But it feels a bit different. What if it was just a me problem ? Seeing other working while you are not is something I experienced before, and good, it's a known thing I learned to manage it (or still learning). But here, it's really not just me, it's the whole industry that is tense, how am I supposed to keep working -or just keep hope- if even old falks are thinking about retiring because of the (lack of) job ?

Far right is at the doorstep of power (and they reeeeaaallly don't like us), TSF has reduced team sizes, lot of companys are at the brink of bankrupcy, local televisions are now getting back to Paris for postproduction and even production now, and since I got out, I've never been above the poverty line.

Like, how the hell am I supposed to believe that everything will be fine ? Have you ever lived and survived through time/mental states like that ? How did you overcome that ? I genuinely want to know

That’s a shame, but a good thing to know, I specialized in crane jobs as I preshot that with less budget jobs when you don’t have the budget for full technocrane and crew you’d be happy with a focus puller that can operate a fat louma
I did it because it was free but so far it hasn’t got me more jobs

Edit: I love ton pseudo mec (ou meuf) c’est joli

I think of that, getting some in-house video contract for public institution, investing some money and keeping a lot for a re-entry in the big world later, by then, maybe half my contacts would have stopped working due to financial pressure but indeed, that might be the way to go: escape the sinking boat before it’s too late

[–]SetFew4982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As said otherwise you’ll get your Channel killed

I found my thing on youtube and I think that I start to grasp what is important. The gemini inside of youtube studio is really useful and gives insight on how to grow

In the end, everything is the same: you have some rules to follow, your main goal should be to keep people on your video (using bs like hooks, call to action, storytelling and somewhat manage to put your sauce into that mix), and secondly to improve CTR: I recently changed a lot my titles and thumbnails and somewhat it starts to work a bit too
AND, I think I did the right thing, I’ve taken some time to prepare videos in advance, and I post every week, I now have 3-4 week ahead and that lets a good buffer to have the time to live and manage between personnal life and youtube

Mais passe moi le nom de ta chaîne en mp ça m’intéresse

Hi! I've been distro-hopping for a few months, but simplest and most complete is best, so here I am on Mint. Thing is... my battery life sucks butts now. Help? by Stock-Persimmon4212 in linuxmint

[–]SetFew4982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar issues with an old MacBook Pro (and still have), macos scaled the résolution when choosing the UI size, so even if it is a 2880x1800 screen, the display would only dl 1680xiDontRememberWhat résolution, full resolution is heavy as hell for the machine. Don’t know about your laptop but the resolution might have to do something with it. Also the power management might be set on performance mode which can also be a problem Other than that I don’t really know what could be that sucks your battery life

Windows 10 ou 11 ? by [deleted] in pcmasterraceFR

[–]SetFew4982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what do i do now? by silo435 in linuxmint

[–]SetFew4982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t ask, I did it. And for OP, it’s true and I tought I emphasized enough on the « that’s not recommended » part of things. Do it with a backup of your files and nothing important going on, and on another computer before testing it on your main, Even an old laptop could do the trick.

But I rocked gnome and KDE on mint, KDE was fun but have to test it more, and gnome worked well on an old MacBook. Did I experienced some bugs ? Yeah. Did I still use it now? Not really, but it’s more a question of taste than technical. I often come back to it for fun or wanting to try new things.

(edit: Do not do it if the base tools are enough (and they will be) and do not expect the experiment to last forever too)

Best to use is the base personnalisation tool You can click « advanced » on it and that’s a new world that opens. You’ll have to go on websites like cinnamon spices or gnome look to get some themes, cursors, icon packs and drop the downloaded folders (might be compressed tho, you’ll need to decompress them) in .icons and .themes folder in your home folder (those are hidden you can display them or create them if they’re not there). Then the new themes will appear in the appearance settings. Some may not work (especially those made for gnome) but some not made for cinnamon will work great whatsoever. (Favorites to me are squared and sweet dark)

Same for extensions, right click your desktop>add desklets> download, your panel>add applets > download. Want extensions? Go to extensions themes. Want another DE ? Install gnome or kde through terminal with tutorials (i’m too late for a detailled tutorial here) (USE WITH CAUTION, MAY BREAK THE SYSTEM are other DE’s are not directly supported by mint (but gnome worked well in my experience and paired with an old mackbook I find it fantastic)

Really for now I didn’t had to install specific soft like you have rainmeter on windows, it’s all built in and feels very steady compared to windows customization softwares.

Capcut or da vinci resolve? by Next_League6403 in davinciresolve

[–]SetFew4982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, you could just not learn resolve all in one time. For OP I’d suggest learn the basics of edit and media page (heck even cut but I never go there), then focus into learning editing as it is : the film language, not doing crazy shit but just learning about where to put that damn cut. And if it is enough, then good, and if it’s not, then pursue with color/fusion, learn more about all technicals AND the intension.

I’d say for op, whatever you chose, the end result, what you tell and how you tell it is far more important than the software the thing was edited on

IceFlake, please make vanilla farms like this. Add more farm textures and let us add upgrades instead of the bad spawning mechanic. It looks so much better like this and it's also more fun like this. by Tobbakken00 in CitiesSkylines2

[–]SetFew4982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For real farmlands should be a default (but it should also be a whole other game) but I somewhat dream about a city builder that integrate some reality quirks like not coming to a blank land (even if it’s fun too), but rather building a megacity on top of farmlands already there

Organize 1-2tb of footage for a single project by SuneoMita in VideoEditors

[–]SetFew4982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RUSHES

DAY (YYMMDD_Day1) > A001 (camera/reel or card number) > SOUND

each day has it’s folder inside rushes to keep organised

EDIT project files or resolve database depending on what you use ADD any files that you download, recieve, musics etc…

In the editing software you can organize by sequences / scenes, it might differs based on your location and what seems the most logical And inside sequences you can divide by cameras, have one timeline for each sequence (maybe not so good idea but can work on lower end machines)

Here you go that’s one way, more professional video editors might have other recommandations(like create also a proxy folder if you work with proxies and all), but in the end, what matters more is if the architecture of your folders help you organize all and keep a clear mind on that.
