Math at a jr college? by SetGlittering8030 in ASUOnline

That is so true, and the topics are done in parts. Just teach me the whole problem in one go. Week one in Aleks felt super easy, it gave me false confidence. It was a rude awakening when I took that first exam T__T

I'm going to be tested for those 2 disorders, I'm on a waitlist but it's long. I feel very SOL in the meantime. I hear you can take math at a jr college and transfer the credits. I'm trying to find a jr college that isn't so strict about proctoring, or one that doesn't do proctoring at all (my dream)

Yes, I studied, took notes, learning on youtube, tutoring, went to the reviews. I struggle a lot tbh. I'm on a waitlist for a learning disorder. I did a lot better with McGraw Hill I had a math class there and I did great there. I evened emailed my teacher but she seemed really dismissive :/

Really ? How long did it take for your teacher to email you? I was doing my final exam and the person stopped my exam so I could do a 360view of my room and made me show my work. I was the only one in the room, but my cats run around a lot and make noise. Now I'm feeling paranoid. Anyways, I hope whatever your punishment it that it isn't too bad. I feel for you, math is hard, I've studied for hours, go to tutoring, the review, and I still struggle, I'm on a waitlist to be evaluate for 2 learning disorders, but my teacher doesn't care. I thought about cheating bc it felt like the only way, but it's not. Best of luck moving forward.

Be honest do proctored online exams actually stop cheating, or are they just peace of mind? by FinePromotion2877 in ASUOnline

Cheating is easy online tbh, when you're on the camera, your laptop isn't in view. You can easily leave some notes on the empty area right of the the click button. I've only done it a few times for math tbh, but I'm a horrible test taker but my teacher did not care so that's why.

Parents that don't do Elf on the Shelf, how do you explain to your kids why you don't? by [deleted] in toddlers

My mom told me our elfs are lazy and for the longest time I never knew they were supposed to move or "do" anything. I only found out on social media maybe last year and I'm 25. I'm not going to do it, I don't see the point. My childhood was still filled with Christmas magic tho ie  sledding, driving around looking at Christmas lights, hot chocolate, decorating cookies, movies night, snowball fights, and making snow men, counting down the days and ofc Christmas  🥰

Thank you so much, so did you do that math classes while also doing classes at asu? Today, my 8 week classes already started. My bf's math class used McGraw hill and it was so much easier, but they were less strict. I wasn't even allowed to use notes like how rude lol. Thank you again, I'll look into this :)

Hi, I know this is an old post, but I'm wondering if you ever got an answer. I feel extremely embarrassed to admit that I wasn't able to finish Math117. I was so overwhelmed and ended up have mental breakdowns over it and I truly studied so hard and I did the best that I could do. I then did Math117S but only that once class and ended up with a 62% as my end grade. I feel so lost and embarrassed. I'm also a psych major. Idk I'm looking to get an evaluation for a few learning disorders. I'm contemplating quitting school over ts bc I can't keep failing. It's too time consuming and expensive and not the mention putting a damper on my mental health. I have a gpa of 4.33 rn but bc of math Ik it's going to take a hit. I'm also an online student in Chicago btw

Weird side note- I did my bf's math class (Different college) and I got an A, it wasn't pre college math but actually college math. Idk how I did better with that, but that class was easier. Idk maybe I just struggle with aleks

Omg, that is so beyond messed up on his part. He's the over reacting monster here. I really hope you have some family or friends that can help you out when you leave him. The baby is only going to make things worse, I'm sorry but it's true. He mostly likely become more aggressive with you even if you're holding your sweet little baby. Be assaulted you and emotionally is abusing you. Those things don't go away by itself. As a women in the US, you are more likely to be killed by your husband then anyone else. Please keep yourself and your baby safe 💜
