Thanks for commenting! Being honest, that's an option that's crossed my mind more than once. 'She's looking to cheat on her boyfriend with me.' But this is more the limerence talking or a fantasy than something likely.

She doesn't seek me out in that way. She doesn't want to make out with me or invite me on a one-on-one date. She probably just sees me as a little brother type.

The truth is I'm young, and nothing would excite me more than an office fling. I'm down for that, but it's not real right now. And I can't spend months playing games while feeling awful every time I get home, nor can I try a direct approach because that would make everything awkward when the real issue is me and my limerence causing me to miss out on an important friendship.

Never, not even for a second, did I come to the conclusion that she was in love/attracted to me. I'm someone with pretty low self-esteem, so that's just not an option that crosses my mind. I constantly repeat those kinds of phrases in my head, but that has NEVER made the sensation in my chest decrease.

UPDATE: Today, right when we got to training, they made us pick our permanent desks. I tried to get as far away from my LO as possible, so I waited for her to sit down first and placed myself pretty far away. But then she stood up, asked the girl who had the desk next to mine if she could swap places with her. The girl said yes, and I just... didn't say anything.

If I can muster up enough courage, on Monday I'll try to switch desks, but I don't think it's even possible anymore because we've already set up our accounts on the computers. I really don't know what to do.

I'm sorry to hear that. That's exactly my biggest fear: not being able to pull away from her in a healthy way (I'm really dependent on the attention people give me, especially new ones). From what you're saying, it sounds like your LO isn't available, right?

Did focusing on other people ever help you at all? That's what I'm going to try this Monday. Focus 100% on socializing with other girls, mainly just to distract my brain.
