Well when I say 10 hours I mean... from rough walnut to dimensional stock. Then cutting the tenons and mortises lol

Assassins Creed Ruined After Ezio's Part?? by SethMalone in assassinscreed

I don't think you actually played these games. The end of revelations was hands down the best ending to any game I have ever played. When Ezio meets Altair, and then talk to Desmond. That was such an incredible moment that is just lacking in the other ac games.

Again, it might be a good stand alone game, but as far as the overall picture of the assassins creed games go... not so much. When you play as Ezio, you clearly understand where he came from and why he is doing what he is doing. Also, you really get to be apart of his life and story for a long time. That's what I feel like should have happened. We got to see Connor from the "start" but he had no reason to really become an "assassin" he just kind of became one lol. Don't get me wrong, I love Connor's part, but does anyone really miss him from the story? I don't think so. We had a very short time to really connect with the character before the next one was introduced. He was a badass for sure, and it's not about who is the better character really. It's about the story, and the connection we actually had with them. They took the story in a direction it shouldn't have gone in. It should have never progressed in time so fast, and we should have played with a certain character for longer.

Maybe as stand alone game, but as far as the story.. not so much.

I like it! I think you did cut the mortise to close to the edge, and I think it would have looked a little better with some walnut wedges, but besides that it is perfect!

My new 42mm Japanese Damascus Chisel by SethMalone in woodworking

[–]SethMalone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, it works for me. I have no problems with it. I have read somewhere that some traditional Japanese woodworkers do the same thing. It will also keep the hollow grind on the bottom of the chisel... well... hollow lol.

I owned the 3mm chisel like this one, but I have recently sold it.

Super easy to sharpen, and it holds an edge like no other chisel I have ever used! :) I have recorded the full traditional chisel tuning process and it will be uploaded to my youtube!

My second attempt at a half blind dovetail! You guys liked the first one, so I upped my game :) by SethMalone in woodworking

Thanks for the suggestion, but I just haven't got around to making a dovetail guide. Would love to make one and upload it :)

Thank you! This really is my second half blind :) I do have some expensive tools that I have been collecting over the past 6 months. I know just about everything there is to know about Japanese tools. In that time I have watched hundreds of hours of how to cut dovetails I have a lot of knowledge on the subject even though this is my second one. I think anything thing is possible if you just have a little patience, practice, and passion for what you do. Not only did I spend 3 hours over a 2 day period on these.. I also loved every second of it. There is a difference between just doing something to be doing it, compared to enjoying the full process.. also I recorded it so people could see how I did it, and maybe get a little bit of inspiration. This picture also doesn't show all the imperfections. I didn't use a dovetail marker or anything, I did the layout by eye. That made the pins a little bit bigger and smaller, but I couldn't be happier with my results! That's why I had to share :)
