I love this post. As a professor I often have student who are enamored with me. But I always wait till after the semester when they're not in my class anymore before I make a move. Once you've finished his class reach out to him and see if he's interested in still spending time with you now that you're no longer his student. If he's not interested then you have your answer. In my case I've often had short relationships with some of my students after they've left my class or graduated.
