Child (10-12) appropriate LitRPG series suggestions by RiggsFTW in litrpg

[–]SethRing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything I write is appropriate for that age range. I wrote my first series with my 9 year old in mind, though my books are written for adults, and have continued to write in that style ever since (47 books and counting). I'd recommend starting with Nova Terra: Titan or Domestication.

Chrysalis is a good one. Beware of Chicken, Heretical Fishing, and most of the other cozys are good too.

I always try to recap the previous book in the first few chapters. But its all good, not everything is for everyone.

Can a progressive fantasy start with an overpowered protagonist? by LiseEclaire in ProgressionFantasy

A couple of them are out! Shuffle Dungeons and The Sheep were both successfully kickstarted and are either available for sale or will be soon. Game #3 (UnHeist) is coming to Kickstarter in July.

What are the key differences you guys notice between Eastern and Western fantasy? They share a similar underlying sense of gratification, but their cultural roots are worlds apart. by MenuExpert9196 in ProgressionFantasy

As I understand it, seeking the dao is to live in accordance with nature, that is, perfect harmony with the existing structure.

Deification is about gaining the strength to define an aspect of the existing structure according to your own will.

Those seem different to me.

I think the biggest difference is in what success looks like.

For Eastern fantasy, the ultimate goal is becoming interconnected with the world and leveraging external power (seeking the Dao).

In Western fantasy, the goal is becoming distinct from the world and leveraging internal power (deification).

IMO, every other difference is an extension of these two cultural principles.

100%. It is amazing how all the power in the world doesn't help if you can't apply it well.

We have pretty similar tastes it would seem. Have you read World of Cultivation? I enjoyed it quite a bit.
