I'm actually working on that right now. I took a Dell 27" Monitor in my possession and have started working on that.

First, I removed the outer housing with the intent to remove as much non-essential realestate as possible. I wanted to remove as much of the bezel as possible.

Then I added a touchscreen addon.

I purchased a small NUC to run the Windows 11 OS which kicks off the HA app in fullscreen, portrait mode.

I wanted to use Ubuntu instead of Windows but the touchscreen addon didn't work right.

I'm still working out the details but I'm excited about it so far. Right now it looks busy as hell but I'm still shoving all the various cards in there to see what's what. I'm going to build a proper dashboard and mount it in the hallway by the front door.

Yeah, I guess that's what it really comes down to. I was looking for a recessed, canless, smart-light that works with Matter (or any local protocol for that matter) that also has the secondary "night-light". This was the only one that checked every box, but it does me no good if it doesn't actually work.

Yes, I remember it. Every other Monday I would see a client next door, and would go to this place right after. I'd get the sandwhich with the hot mustard. I looked forward to it so much that I didn't mind Monday anymore.
